Zach thinks he's an orangie!

It came to me when I was chatting with my BFF Calie on her diary, that some of you don't know Zach's fear of trash bags.

Here's his story, Mom went to the shelter to pick up her a new kitty after Joe Black died. She looked and looked, she talked to Dad on the phone and he said he would be there in a sec.

Meanwhile me and Grandma and Grandpa was waiting for the new kitty to come home. Mom usual gets a grown up kitty cause their chances of getting adopted are less, so I was working on the ground rules so I didn't lose my position in the family. It was my time to be THE cat of the house. So much for that idea!

Mom said Dad got there and he looked at all the kitties and he didn't see their next kitty either. Their hearts were breaking to have to leave without a kitty but they believe in knowing when you meet the next one. Kind of like knowing when you meet someone special in your life. You just know it. Then Dad suggested looking at the kittens. In one cage there was a pile of about 6 little orange and white kitties. She decided she would look. In the middle of that pile was a black leg. Now, Mom and Dad just love black kitties, they are so sleek and mysterious. Mom gently untangled the kittens and it was the cutest little Tuxxie there ever was. She loved his buttons. She decided this was the kitty he was just too cute and so small. The shelter said that he was 3 months old but Doc said no because he wasn't getting his adult teeth yet. What a surprise we got when they showed us the kitty that got.

So, I know why he likes Finn so much, he thinks he's a orangie too. Plus our Mom's are a lot a like too.

One of the things we were talking about was how Zach is terrified of trash bags. He runs for the hills anytime Mom gets one out. She pretty much knows that he was put in a trash bag but why? For transport to the shelter, was the orangies and whites really his family and did he have a different daddy? Was he left on the side or worse in the road, in the bag? These are the questions that will never be answered, but we are so blessed to have him. Mom will wait till Zach is out of the kitchen before she gets one out now.

If you have any suggestions for Callie, feel free to leave them here or on her diary named crying. She is crying out every time her Mommy leaves the house.

So, instead of delusions-of-grandeur, Zach has delusions-of-orangeur? Or does he have both? MOL! It's a great story, but I hate to think he was trapped in a trash bag at any time, but just when we think we've heard it all, people surprise us again. It's SO sad! You guys are BOTH some of the most PRECIOUS kitties in our lives!
Also, that plaintive wail of kitties when they are lonely just breaks Mom's heart! Most of them do get past his, though. It is reawakened during losses, even moving(loss of a familiar place), but trust in the surroundings gets reestablished and it will go away again. I hope this happens for Calie soon.

What a sweet story. My Mommy adores tuxies, but she also loves orangies which is why she adopted me:) Hard to say why Zach is afraid of trash bags, maybe it's the noise that bothers him? My sisfur and I were found in a dumpster when we were kittens. To this day, Natasha is a very timid kitty who frightens easily, while I am easy going and very social. I sure hope Zach didn't spend any time in a trash bag - some humans can be pretty awful.

Oh Sammy, how sad that you guys were found in a dumpster. Mom is very passionate about no kill shelters and money going toward discount spay and neutering. But she also knows that if every cat was fixed then the Heinz 57 breed would die out and that would be tragic. She also knows it will never happen, but what if....have you ever thought of that?

Really doesn't matter Sweet Zoe, if Zach did indeed stem from a background of Orangies. Maybe a different daddy, although becoz he was so different, HE stood out in da crowd 'n dat is why Ur mom selected him! I am so glad she did! Orangies r indeed cool, but Zach is a furry spawcial guy 'n he should know how spawcial he is, don't matter what his color is! I look up to Finn also, but I already an Orangie! Hehehee! Bof ur furmilies rock! Yeah peeps can be so cruel 'n Zach don't like trash bags, so ur mom is all knowin' now! YAY! I know, when a mommy goes to find a new kitfur, well u jus' know! I was in da back of da shelter when Mommy founded me, her almost left twice! But I is so happy her looked again, founded ME diggin' 'n tossin' da papers efurywhere! MOL! I got her attenshon, den I gotted her wif my blue eyes too! Nuff said. We went to sweet Calie's page also.

My dear BFF thanks so furry much for my mention in your diary. We would have been here sooner but mom got off to clean house. Mom is really reading up on the seperation issue. I love the story of Zach's rescue. I might talk little boy into writting about his big fear of plastic bags. Hey Finney I hear Milo gets kinda shy around Zoe....
