Love game......are you up to it??December 30th 2012 8:04 am[ View A Comments (18) ]
With my brush with death yesterday I feel full of life today. This is a poem diary, you write, quote any poem or movie quote to answer each other. I'll get the ball rolling.
"Life is like a box of Chocolates" Let me not to the marriage of true minds Admit impediments. Love is not love Which alters when it alteration finds, Or bends with the remover to remove: O no! it is an ever-fixed mark That looks on tempests and is never shaken; It is the star to every wandering bark, Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken. Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks Within his bending sickle's compass come: Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, But bears it out even to the edge of doom. If this be error and upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved. - William Shakespeare, Sonnet 116 Life is like a deck of cards. We can't control the cards we're dealt, just how we play the hand. Mom don't know where it first came from. "All you need is love...." (John Lennon) Skylar..."I ate some" (Forrest Forrest Gump) shucks I was going to quote the Shakesman. Here's to you Sleep... When my love swears that she is made of truth, I do believe her though I know she lies, That she might think me some untutored youth, Unlearned in the world's false subtleties. Thus vainly thinking that she thinks me young, Although she knows my days are past the best, Simply I credit her false-speaking tongue: On both sides thus is simple truth suppressed: But wherefore says she not she is unjust? And wherefore say not I that I am old? O! love's best habit is in seeming trust, And age in love, loves not to have years told: Therefore I lie with her, and she with me, And in our faults by lies we flattered be. Sonnet CXXXVIII Shakescoolcat Linus spoken like a true gambler. "Got to know when to hold them got to know when to fold them" (Kenny Rogers) Milo..."I got you babe" by you know who I hate how Sonny died, had a friend hit a tree sledding....she lived and has new check bones and nose of a super model. (went through a lot of pain getting them though) "Stay here. Stay here as long as you can. For the love of God, cherish it. You have to cherish it." - Billy Madison (from your Snack Pack) MOL! I can just see that kids chubby cheeks a jiggling. MOL! Love that part and of course the quizzes with the bus driver. Love you Snack Pack. Got one quote that I'm so glad to be able to share with you guys. I read it years ago and it stuck. “Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.” (C.S. Lewis) So true, so true...just got an app a few months ago that has all the stories from the Brother Grim series. Shhhh... don't tell anyone but Mom reads them at work. Hmmm- nice sonnet, Zachie! OK, I had a different song in mind, but instead - here's an answer to your choice. (Johnny Lang does a nice version of this, though I had to change the pronoun to "her" in place of "him"): Lie to me and tell me everything is all right Lie to me and tell me that you'll stay here tonight Tell me that you'll never leave Oh, and I'll just try to make believe That everything, everything your telling me is true Come on baby won't you just Lie to me, go ahead and lie to me Lie to me, it doesn't matter anymore It could never be, the way it was before If I can't hold on to you Leave me somethin' I can hold onto For just a little while won't you, won't you let me be Oh, anyone can see That you love her more than me But right now baby let me pretend That our love will never end Lie to me, go ahead and lie to me Here's the link (hope it works) to 16 year old Johnny Lang singing "Lie to Me" Here's the link (hope it works) to 16 year old Johnny Lang singing "Lie to Me" OK - was expecting Error 4 the first time... She'd come home, 6 a.m. Tells me she'd been out with friends And I let her lie, I let her lie And in the glare of the morning sun She swore I was her only one And I let her lie, I let her lie 'Cause the truth was too hard to handle And I couldn't bare to lose that girl We were that small town scandal but She was my only world One teary night she confessed her sins But she vowed to never cheat again And I let her lie, I let her lie Though she tried Lord, she could not change And I only have myself to blame 'Cause I let her lie, I let her lie 'Cause the truth was too hard to handle And I couldn't bare to lose that girl We were that small town scandal but She was my only world The day I left no words were said She was sound asleep on our double bed And I let her lie, I let her lie I let her lie I let her lie Song by Daryl Singletary (don't even trust my link capabilities anymore...never work) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zX0pQ0QdUg8 Sky are you awake?
