indoors Arrival Story: I brought Kenji home on December 7, 2010. He was approximately 5 weeks old. He was already walking well and could eat canned food. I bottle fed him for about a week, then he started eating kitten food.
I was working in one of my departments at work and the store manager calls me over the walkie talkie and tells me to come back to the receiving area. By the loading dock was a big box with a kitten inside! The Executive Team Lead and Senior Team Lead of AP (Assets Protection) had found him stuck in one of the trailers on the loading dock after they heard some meowing. They had already called animal control, but I thought about it and I said no, he is not going there and I would take him home with me. They called animal control back and told them that the kitten had a home. There was a black and white cat on the other side of the building. The kitty may may have been his mom. I think they were trying to get warm. It was supposed to freeze that night.
He is very sweet and has adjusted fine. He gets along with Trinity and all the other kitties. He never hisses or fights with the other cats. He just does his play-fighting and his ninja kitten moves. He was in his first TICA cat show in June 2011 as a Household Pet Kitten.
He got 813 points in his first show and I registered him with the cat association. He had enough points to become the 14th Best Household Pet Kitten in the South Central Region for the 2011-2012 show season, so he is a Regional Winner (RW)!
I had just lost my 16-year-old seal lynx-point tabby, Nigel, on October 22, 2010, just 7 weeks before I took Kenji home. I believe Nigel sent Kenji to us! ♥

Yesterday morning around 11:14 am, I made my journey to the Rainbow Bridge. Dad took me to the emergency vet and x-rays showed I had a round, enlarged heart, most likely a birth defect. My tired little heart just gave out. I passed away in my mom's arms. I am with Angel Nigel now. He's the one who sent me to mom and dad after he made his journey. Mom and dad needed me just as much as I needed them. I know mom and dad will miss me very much. Mom says she was grateful to have me, even if it was only for such a short time. I used to make little Bless You noises when mom and dad would sneeze. My eyes always looked sad, but I was the happiest and most grateful kitty. I liked to visit mom and dad when they were in the bathroom and I liked to knead on mom's stomach while I stuck my butt in her face. When mom was unemployed and depressed, she said my cute antics kept her spirits up.
My mom would sing to me all the time. This is what she would sing to me.
You are my Kenji, my only Kenji,
You make me happy when skies are grey,
You'll never know dear, how much I love you,
Please don't take my Kenji away.
Mom: Kenji, we miss you very much and we will never forget you. Rest in Peace my little dude, my Sunshine. ♥
On Friday night, after my mom got home from work, she was checking her email and she received an email from someone at TICA (the International Cat Association) that said that I am the 2012 Fourteenth Best Household Pet Kitten of the Year in the South Central Region for the 2010-11 show season with 813 points! Woo Hoo!
