Arrival Story:
he was abandoned by his original family when they moved out of town. i was feeding him as an outside cat, then he got picked up by the pouond so i went down there, paid his bail, pulled him off death row, and he has been a happy inside cat ever since.

i count that as one of his nine lives, he also survived an abcessed wound he got from a fight with another cat, that was his number 2. his recent bout with diabetes counts as another one of his lives. but we are not fully recovered yet...

our beautiful feline son passed away this week. his battle with diabetes had become further complicated by cancer of his spleen and severe anemia.

our hearts are broken.

he is finally free of his suffering. he gets to be young and strong again.

Tigger, our hearts are forever with you. may our tears build a bridge to you on the other side.

i am home now.
the last few days have been hectic to say the least.
after surviving ketoacidosis(our doctor said only 20% of cats live through this, and they are typically much younger. she gave much praise for my will to live). i spent the next 2 weeks at the clinic during the day, trying to get my glucose under control and my medication right.
the doctor has been training my human dad to do my blood tests and medication and subq fluids at home to help with the expenses.
after several good days i tested high today.
but every day i am alive is another day of hope

i have been diagnosed with diabetes.
the doctor said my blood sugar was at 470.
my human dad gave me the medicine from the doctor (glipizide), but it made me even more sick and gave me seizures.
he is feeding me from a tube now because i refuse to eat.
i hope the doctor will change my medication when we go to see her to morrow.
i feel horrible.
