Arrival Story:
I was looking for an animal that wouldn't be too harsh on my allergies. and I found out that Cornish Rex cats don't shed very much. So I contacted a breeder who is located in New Jersey but has a location in Manhattan. When I went to see the cats I fell in love with what i thought was my dream cat.....deep grey color, female, green eyes.....but she was a little beeeatch...lol....ignored me...but I wanted her anyhow. Then my little Roo came up to me , sat right in front of me, tilted his head (kinda like the way Forrest Gump does) and meowed. I thought he was so cute. So while I was arranging to adopt the mean cat, I began playing with Roo. Upon asking the breeder about lil Roo, she told me that I didn't want him....he was the runt of the litter, had some physical characteristics that were flawed, he'd never become a show cat, she didn't know what she'd do with him....blah blah blah.....needless to say I was sold....and he's beyond perfect
Bio:
Roo is not your typical cat, as the owner of any other cornish rex will tell you. He greets me at the door, loves to play fetch, and just enjoys being around people. He can jump high distances, including from the floor to my shoulders, where he loves to sit! Sometimes he just lays down across my neck and sleeps there. He also loves to curl up under a nice warm blanket...or chill out near any sort of heat source.....such as the top of my cable box...or even under a radiator....He makes mischief, but always shows me what he's been up to by meowing nonstop until i get up and go where he leads me....usually something he's knocked over....When he wants me to wake up, he opens my bedroom door, jumps in bed with me, and slaps me in the face with his paw a couple of times while meowing...now what cat does that??!!?? He can open and close lights and cabinets...and has even turned on my stove...and my kitchen sink....sigh....such a wonderful little roomate:)
