Leave a treat for Valentino and Endora

Quick Bio:
-part feral-cat rescue

Likes:
Valentino loved to receive shoulder massages from Endora! Endora loved to cuddle with Valentino.

Pet-Peeves:
Endora was feral, so she could be skittish, especially when unfamiliar people entered the residence. Valentino's pet peeve was people who abandon their pets for any reason!

Favorite Toy:
They weren't too into toys but they both got tons of mileage out of the cat ramps my boyfriend had built all over the house for them!

Favorite Nap Spot:
Anywhere, as long as they were cuddled up together.

Favorite Food:
There were 10 kitty mouths to feed at the time, and mom was spending all her resources on her feral cat feeding station, so we were all simply grateful to find any kind of food in our dishes every day!

Skills:
A plethora of skills and talents between them, these lovecats were charismatic kitty stars!

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
Endora was one of 3 feral kittens I rescued and fostered for nearly 2 years - her sister was Shakti and her brother was Harpo. Valentino was a 2 year old Maine Coon that had belonged to a woman who abandoned him when she moved away. I saw Valentino sitting forlornly outside, atop a pile of furniture out on the street, and after feeding him for a couple of weeks, I realized his human wasn't going to return for him, so I fostered him too. Endora was about 8 months old when Valentino joined the foster clan, and it was a mutual case of love at first sight! To witness their romantic mushiness was almost embarrassing!

Bio:
A couple of winters ago, I fell seriously ill. There was nobody to help me look after my large family of cats, so I regretfully had to release the foster cats to a local no-kill shelter. It was their policy to not do follow-ups with people who surrendered cats for any reason, and even though I was a former volunteer for the shelter, they would not make an exception in my case. So, sadly, I can't tell you what became of them. I can only hope that today Valentino and Endora are still together, living and loving, happy and healthy in a caring home. I miss them, as I do the other cats I was forced to surrender. I learned from this experience that if you're going to foster, don't do it alone. Network with like-minded people, so if something like a serious illness occurs, you have understanding, capable catlovers to turn to for help. Then maybe you won't suffer the heartbreak I did, and be forced to part in a less than happy manner from your foster family.
