Arrival Story:
I was living alone and just got out of the army... I had got my own place and wanted some companionship. I went to "Cat Welfare" in Columbus, Ohio to pick a cat out. When I walked in Cat Welfare, there were cats everywhere... hangin out in the windows... plopped on the desks... anywhere you could plop a cat, there was one there... they took me back to the first room with walls full of cages filled with cats of all ages and sizes. I took two steps in the room, looked to the right and from across the room our eyes met. Those beautiful eyes glowing from the dark cage. There was never a doubt. She was my first and only choice for my cat.

Bio:
Isis is a lover. But strictly on her terms. No picking her up and forcing affection. She will come to you. She will dictate what needs rubbed or scratched. And she decides when it's done. She NEVER gives kisses. Only a few times has she ever kissed me but on the arm. BUT MY WIFE SHE'S KISSED ON THE LIPS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS! Now that we have Chihuahuas, she is the elder and takes the role of Mommy-cat. She looks after them. Protects them outside, and sometimes even cleans them. Isis is a BIG, black cat. She's a panther compared to our Chihuahuas. She's declawed and still runs the neighborhood when we let her outdoors in the summer. (she gets colds if we let her out in the winter) The funniest Isis story is when we lived in Lakeland, FL. We lived in an apartment complex. We had a attachment to our sliding glass door that had a plastic flap that the chihuahua could use to go outside at will. Isis willed herself outside on and off for most of the day and night. She was like a drunken college roommate. She'd come and go as she pleased. She feasted on the many lizards and frogs in the area (often leaving the corpses behind furniture or at the foot of our bed). One day I was out fishing in the lake in our apt complex when Isis came up and laid down next to me (i assume she was waiting for me to pull her out some lunch). A couple of the neighbors happened by and asked if that was my cat. I replied that it was. They went on to explain that everyone in the complex wondered who's huge black cat that was. It seems that she had a habit of going up to the sliding glass doors and windows of the other tenants and staring down the neighboring cats. Half the felines in the complex were in therapy because of her. That's my girl. She's a tough one. Things got interesting lately because we happened to get a kitten that had no home. A loving little black and white, pink nosed boy named Romeo, for his tendency to want to love on anything that moves. (not in a naughty way... just hugs and kisses). Well, being a kitten, Romeo would tear across the house to attack Isis. She being almost 10 years his senior could give a crap about playing, but was forced to deal with his claws (as she has none). She's been dealing with it very well up until now, and we feel very sorry for her. But Romeo's time has come. Last Thursday he was fixed and declawed. Oh, baby, Isis... remember the Romulan saying that "Revenge is a dish best served cold". Well, it is very cold in Michigan... very cold, indeed.

Well, it finally happened! The new boy cat, Romeo, was fixed and declawed. NOW WE ARE ON EQUAL GROUND! He has won some battles, but the war is far from over! Even now the tides are turning... I'm bigger and smarter.

Now for the worries. I just found out that my nephew is sick with cancer. I was tore up when his brother passed a couple months ago, now he is sick too. Daddy says it's something that they inherited. They used to live with me, and I would look after them. They were two naughty little brothers! They would get into everything! I hope that he gets better. I care for him very much... but I know that it will be harder on Muffin... and on my Aunt Chryss.
