Arrival Story:
She hung around an apartment where I used to live and I fed her occasionally. Then my apartment was burglarized twice in one week and the burglars let her inside and I felt a special connection with her, like we'd both been through that burglary and I adopted her. She'd apparently been som0eone's kitty at some time since she was both spayed and declawed when I found her.

Bio:
Continuing on the burglary theme, she was staying at my boyfriend's house one week and his house was burglarized. Those burglars let her out and she was gone for a week. She came back thinner, but she obviously maintained her alley cat skills, since there's a large feral population in his neighborhood. Lou Reed has flea allergy dermatitis and doesn't know how to "cover" anything in her litterbox. JULY 12, 2008: Lou Reed was experiencing paralysis, probably from a saddle thrombus. When we took her to the vet, she was also in liver failure. Her prognosis was poor, so we decided to say goodbye to our friend of 6 years. We will miss you, Lou Reed.
