Of course, because we live in Central PA, we are practically MANDATED to be Penn State fans. WE love them because they have a big cat as their mascot, a Nittany Lion. The coach, JoePa, should have reported the abuse allegations to officials as well as the admins of the university. Whenever a child is in danger, we as human beings are obligated to do THE MOST we can, not the least. JoePa did the least and we cannot condone that. It allowed further contact and additional victims. With his influence, if he had stood up for the victim, he could have made a positive impression on many, many people, who might have gone on to report abuses they may have witnessed. I just can find no good reason why he did the minimum.
JoePa is almost 85 years old and he has now broken the record for college-game victories at 409. He made it this far, but now it's time for him to go.

That sure is a big muddled up mess...sorry that your fave team is feeling the consequences of it.
Tink, ever school has it's scandals. Some are horrible and some are just haters trying to stir up trouble (IE: Duke Lacrosse team scandal) This appears to be a pretty bad scandal.
All I can say is let your voice be heard!
I thank he should go ahead and retire where ever Casey Anthony is hiding. Because his name is mud!
Tink, very well said. His decisions and lack of action certainly harmed many victims but also tarnished the reputation of the school. Sadly it is not a very proud day to be from PA.
Did you also hear how people are now linking Ray Gricar, the missing District Attorney to this. He, at one point opted not to prosecute Sandusky when he was brought up on charges of molestation in 1998. Seven years later he went missing. Eerie coincidence.
We hadn't heard that but it is eerie...
Maybe he's missing on purpose if you know what I mean.
Skylar, like I said before...every school has it's bad scandals. This is bad but the school will move on. Don't hold your head down, trust me during the Duke scandal I did. Earlier this year Carolina got busted for fixing grades and tutors sleeping with the players and they survived.
I wish I could say something to make you guys feel better but I can't. Except, don't hold your head down and let your voice be heard. Demand that he will be fired. Let the world know you are a moral state who will protect children's lives and their mental health at all cost.
Thanks Zach! I'm sure the school will be fine, but it will take some time. I'm really horrified that it happened, especially the way they say it did, but it didn't directly affect football, so I'm not holding my head down over it. I just answered a Facebook Poll about it.
With our world the way it is, people have a much harder time keeping secrets. Try to live your life in a way that the worst thing about you is not a secret, then you won't have to worry. Just a thought...
Tink, Mom has a friend at work that has a t-shirt that says "live your life right so the preacher doesn't have to lie at your funeral" Mom loves that, so many times she's went to funerals and thought are they talking about the person I knew?
Ironically, this person with the shirt has fell out of grace in Mom's eye over the last year. Mom says maybe that's why he doesn't wear the T-shirt anymore.
I agree. Paterno should have reported it to the cops.
My mom works for "an institution of high learning" so there is alot of talk about Penn State right now. Me thinks that humanz are falible. Even good peeplz can make poor decisions.
