Do I favor a hashbrown? I am named after a McDonald's breakfast item--wonder what I would have been named if they had found me during dinner--Angus? Big Mac?!!"

Hashbrown was found in the drive-thru where both of my children are managers. My daughter called and asked if I would take this kitten to the vet, to see what her injuries were. The local vet said she had nothing broken, but needed to be crated. Within 3 to 4 days she was having to pull herself along in the crate, so I took her to my vet. He x-rayed and said that both left legs were fractured, but that it had been a period of time and they were already knitting back. (He felt a car had hit her--she also has a broken canine.) He recommended crating for 2 more weeks. My daughter decided to foster Hashbrown, which the vet estimates is at least 2 years old. My daughter placed an ad online for a new home; but she had no replies. The decision was made to bring her home with me after she started becoming too aggressive with my grandbaby. (She was acting like the baby was her kitten; cleaning her head and even once tried to discipline her for kicking--no injuries but scared the mommy.) She is sharing my son's room, to see if her injuries will continue to heal without being aggravated by horseplay with the other cats.; UPdate 2012: Hashbrown healed but remained crippled in her left front and rear legs. She developed a push with her left front (almost like a fin) and then she would bunny hop with her rear legs. She survived an inflammation of the brain in April of 2011. After that she appeared to be healthy. Then on April 25th, 2012, I was with my daughter after her 2nd baby was born, my son Donald came home in the evening to find that Hashbrown had passed away. There was no warning. Something must have happened when she was hit by the car, that caused her to leave us. She was a Sweet cat, a stubborn one (I would have to vacuum around her, then move her to finish--one of my last memories are of her going to get down from the couch to lay in the middle of the floor because I had just started to sweep-her Dad told her no and kept her on the couch with him. She refused to acknowledge us for several hours, then it was as if nothing had happened. :) )RIP Sweet Hashbrown.

October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came—
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
The Chestnuts came in yellow,
The Oaks in crimson dressed;
The lovely Misses Maple
In scarlet looked their best;
All balanced to their partners,
And gaily fluttered by;
The sight was like a rainbow
New fallen from the sky.
Then, in the rustic hollow,
At hide-and-seek they played,
The party closed at sundown,
And everybody stayed.
Professor Wind played louder;
They flew along the ground;
And then the party ended
In jolly "hands around."

I am really doing good. I am adjusting to getting around, and everyday it is a little easier. Dear friends of ours, The Fluffkins, sent Mom treats for me, to see if they might help my joints. That was so kind of them. I did try one of the treats, so Mom is going to keep offering it to me, in hopes that I will continue to eat it. She tried Zukes before, even breaking it up, and I ignored it. Hopefully this new one will help.
I am having some itchies. The doctor noticed it when he treated me before and made the comment that Calicoes are prone to allergies. Mom forgot to ask how that can be, since Calico is a coloration, not a breed. They were also discussing my joints and the inner ear or cerebral infection. Mom is going to ask the next time she speaks with him.
Dad says that my name should have been Cassidy, for Hop-a-Long Cassidy. Mom does not like it when he calls me that, but he does comment on how I have improved over what I was several weeks ago.
He was frustrated with me a couple of weekends ago. He is only home on the weekends, he drives a big truck. I decided that for that weekend I wanted to lay in front of the fridge. So everytime he wanted in there, he had to move me. Mom said I could be considered a Diet plan. She would think twice as to IF she wanted to make me move or not. I helped her save calories that way!! MOL
I know that it was the prayers of my Sweet friends that has helped me to improve and I am so thankful for your prayers. I still have a ways to go; and I believe that I will improve a lot more.
Love and Hugs,
