We live in Newcomb, New Mexico--on the Navajo Nation. About 11:00 p.m. on HALLOWEEN NIGHT, I took our doggies out before bedtime. I saw something BLACK dash under the fence! "It" ran to the hogan on our property and I heard a "meow." After I took the dogs back in, I called my husband to come outside and bring some food! When I called, "Here, kitty", she came running to me! My husband & I have been wanting a cat and I have always wanted a black cat as they are so hated by some. Needless to say, we took her in!! I am SO THANKFUL that she found us....we live in an isolated area/desert and I hear coyotes at night! WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF FINDING A BLACK CAT ON HALLOWEEN NIGHT?!!

Hi....Gilda here. I just read Yasha's new diary entry and I am so proud of my brudder!! I would like to add something.....I was an abused stray when Mommy & Daddy took me in one Halloween night. I am so thankful to have a home but I often think of the cats and dogs that are not so blessed. So to all those who help animals, I would also like to give a rose to you!!! Thank you for a kind heart!!!

Love,

Gilda

Wed., December 15 I woke up happy and ready for a Christmasy day. I got a bit nervous when Mommy put me in the pet carrier and we went for a "ride." We went to our vet. clinic and Mommy left me there!! To make a long story short....I got spayed Wed.!!! Oh, I felt so bad and worse of all, I had to stay overnight!!! But bright and early Thursday Mommy & Daddy AND Yasha (who was getting his second set of vaccinations) arrived and took me home!! I never was so happy!! I have just been resting the past few days...still not up to par but feel like my usual self today. Mommy wraps me in a blanket and holds me...I am spoiled! I love it....but oh, I wish that she wouldn't SING to me!!! Pleeez!!!!

Now I am all ready for Christmas! MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!!!!

It IS always something!

Well, if you read Yasha's page, you will know the whole story about the mix-up of Mommy & Daddy thinking that he was a "she" until the vet told them the facts of life. And you will know why we did a name switch. I was glad....if they had asked me, I could have told them that I preferred the name "Gilda." I am happy with my "new" name!!

Things are going great here....except Mommy & Daddy don't want me playing in the Christmas tree. It's so much fun!!! I love that tree! And those ornaments...what a temptation! Our whole home looks very Christmasy.

It is COLD here and snowy! At night I hear the wind just howling.
I love it.

Enjoy the holidays, everyone!!
