indoors and outdoors Arrival Story: I'm Taffy, I'm 6 years old, and I'm currently enjoying life in a small town in Michigan. I love the great outdoors, even though I'm only out there for about 8 hours a day. My mom makes me come indoors at night. I love the birds and mice, even though my mom hates it when I bring them for her. I remember the day my mom got me. It was a summer afternoon in 2004. I was just 10 weeks old. I remember the first time she walked into the barn I was in, I was very afraid of her at first. I scrambled to the very top and hid behind my furry mother. She took a look at all of my siblings, and then left. Later, she came back, and pointed at me. I was still at the very top of the barn. The kind lady that had been taking care of all of us cats picked me up and gave her to my mom. She asked her if she was sure, since I was a snotty little kitten back then. My mom didn't mind. She was young too, only 8 years old, she was just excited to finally have a cat of her own. The first night was a little scary in my new home, I missed my litter mates and my fluffy mom. But soon enough, I warmed up to my new place. Now, six years later, I'm a happy and healthy cat. I'm so happy I have this home! I love it here, and I don't know what I would do if I hadn't been adopted by her.
Taffy was adopted at Cass River Pet Friends in August 2004. It is an organization that takes in stray cats to help them find homes. They do not kill them unless they cannot be helped. Taffy was born there, her mom was dropped off on a side road, and a man had found her and brought her in. They figured that her owners didn't want her anymore since she was about to have kittens. I had a grrrrrreat day today! First, I was a guard cat towards the neighbors that came to sell some stuff. I growled at them, and puffed myself out. Later, after my cat nap, I went outside. I had lots of fun! I even brought my family a mouse! To bad it stopped moving after I sat on it and threw it up in the air. I never understand why they just stop running around... I don't get it! Oh well! Later in the night, after I came inside, I was sort of bored. I decided that I was going to jump up on a table. I missed my jump, and somehow ended up behind the table, in a small corner that I couldn't get out of. No one was around, they were all outside. Later, my mom came inside and laid on the couch to do some school work and check up on our Catster and Dogster. After a little while, I got bored so I "marooowwwed" her a coupled times. She just figured I was playing somewhere and said hi to me. I didn't really know what to do. But after about a half hour, I "marooowwwed" again. That time they all heard me. My mom and my grandpa were looking for me all over. Then my mom remembered that I sometimes miss my jump and end up behind that table. My grandpa then found me and helped me out. Anyways, I had a very tiring day. I am now unwinding and taking a nice kitty bath in my rocking chair. Hope to talk to you guys soon! (:
