Arrival Story:
****Annabelle passed away January 30th 2008, due to complications stemming from ear surgery she had 3 weeks earlier. She was recovering very well, and then she took a sudden turn for the worse and we had to put her to sleep. We buried her along side of her brother and sister, Oliver and Gritty-Kitty. She will be greatly missed.**** Another cat we found at the local grocery store. This is the second cat we've brought home from that parking lot!! She was abandoned with her kittens, and of course everyone took away her kittens, but no one wanted her...so sad!! So I saw her and brought her home. She is a very grateful, affectionate kitty. She is really starting to come out of her shell, however she still swats at the dogs and other cats if they get too close to her. She is finally deciding that Bossy makes a better friend than enemy, and she has stopped attacking him all the time. She still picks at Shalimar, but Shalimar is a very easy target anyways. Annabelle is doing very well and is growing into a big beautiful kitty! (After 2 years of being with us, Annie really did decide to be friends with Shalimar and Bossy, and they learned to tolerate each other quite well. She never did like the dogs though. She was very fond of me, and very nervous of my husband. Annie spent most of her time sleeping or entertaining herself by dancing around the house. She sat on my lap as often as she could, and dug her sharp little claws into my skin to show me how much she loved me. She loved to scratch the furniture and romp through the house, and was often found sliding on the hardwood floors. She loved to nap on our bed or on the arm of the couch, and would follow me around wherever I went. She loved to garden with me, and enjoyed sitting on our deck in the hot summer sun. She was a tough girl, and I know that she even chased the neighbours dogs away on a couple of occasions. We believe that Annie was misdiagnosed as having an ear infection, when it actually turned out to be something much more severe. She became completely paralyzed on the right side of her face, then had to have emergency surgery to remove what appeared to be a tumor in her ear. The vet removed the mass in her ear, but was unable to identify it. She seemed to be recovering from the surgery, but then took a quick turn for the worse 2 weeks later. I said goodnight to her and patted her head, and when I woke up the next morning she couldn't walk anymore. Even when she couldn't find the strength to get out of her bed, she still managed to purr when I walked into the room. Sleep soundly my beautiful girl, rest in peace.

Bio:
---STRAY CAT--- 'Oh, what unhappy twist of fate has brought you, homeless, to my gate. The gate where once another stood, to beg for shelter, warmth & food. For from that day I ceased to be, the master of my destiny, while he, with purr & velvet paw became, within my house, the law. He scratched the furniture and he shed, and claimed the middle of my bed. He ruled in arrogance and pride, and broke my heart the day he died. So if you really think, oh cat, I'd willingly relive all that, because you come, forlorn & thin... Well... don't just stand there, come on in!' --Francis Witham--
