Arrival Story:
When I was twelve years old, I really wanted a cat (well, I'd always wanted on, really), but my mother is allergic, so she suggested I volunteer at a cat shelter so I could at least spend time with some kitties. I started volunteering at Harmony House for a few weeks, and then one day a mother cat was taken into the shelter, and she had four sons. I was there with a couple friends, and the four of us were playing with the kittens, and everyone quickly ran to grab one to play with. The one that was left was the sickly looking, tired, skinny kitten, who I picked up gently. I lied down on my back and placed him on my chest, since he seemed tired, and everyone else immediately regretted their choice in kitten when they saw how sweet mine was, the way he cuddled up to me. I ended up taking care of him and I managed to coax him into eating some food, which he was very reluctant to do. The workers at the shelter had only been able to force feed him, but somehow I was able to make the food seem interesting to him somehow, perhaps he had started to trust me. No one thought he would live, but apparently we proved them wrong. When he was old enough to adopt, my mom let me take him home!

His mother's name is Roseanne, and she never let him drink her milk. She rejected him as a child, which is why he has eating problems. He still seems to equate food with love and affection, which has in turn made him into quite a hefty little boy, but we are working on that. The name originally given to him by Harmony House was DJ.
