My little brofur, Jax, went to the vet last week and from his stool sample, they found that he has a parasite called coccidia. So we've all had to be treated for it because it is contagious, and the medicine is SOOOO yucky!! The dogs only have to take pills with their food, and they don't seem to mind (they'll eat anything!). But us cats, we have to have a gross-tasting liquid squirted down our throats twice a day for 10 days! Fortunately, today was Day 7, so we are getting closer to the end! It tastes so bad that we all foam at the mouth after being given the medicine. It was skeery to Mom the first day, when she didn't know that would happen. But the vet said it is a normal reaction for cats who have a bad taste in their mouth- and this is a very bad taste! Ivy and I shake our heads a lot like we are trying to get rid of the bad taste, and we don't even want our Fancy Feast as much. I have been especially freaked out. I keep trying to find new places to hide so they can't find me and give me the medicine, but they always do! I know my pawrents don't like giving it to us because it is so unpleasant for us but they keep saying it is a good thing. Anyway, we are all thankful that this is almost over, and that we will get back to normal soon.
My goodness Mac! Ya'll need to finish up meds to get rid of that coccidia and feel much better. I know yer parents dread givin' it to you as much as you dont like takein' it.
