Quick funny story. Every once in a while Mom comes home to find the bedroom phone off the hook. It is a corded phone that sits on her night stand. When it rings, the phone lights up and has this annoying bell sound. Mom needs a loud phone, because she can sleep through just about anything.
Mom never knew who was knocking the phone off the hook or why it was happening. On Tuesday morning, Mom found out it was me. She was out in the hall and the phone rang, Mom and I both raced for it and I got there first! I knocked it off the hook and then Mom picked it up and answered it.
Today she came home at lunchtime and the message light was blinking on the answering machine. When she played the message there was no one there. She went upstairs and there was the telephone hanging down the side of the nightstand. I tried to answer the call, but they wouldn't talk to me.
Mom says that if I can learn to write out the messages when people call that she will get rid of the answering machine, or I can go out, get a job and earn my keep!
Maybe I race to the phone because it might be my handsome prince, Ollie, calling to talk with me. Did she ever consider that?
Hmmm Maybe Mom can get me my own phone for my birthday. I will be 2 soon. Is that too young to have your own phone? I see those little kids walking home from school down our street with their smartphones and their blueberries.....
Can I have my own phone Mommy? Please?

Funny story, Dia! At least your mom didn't assume it was you.
Anything is missing in my house, I am always the one and only suspect. Today she was missing a boot! Yes, you are reading it right~A BOOT! So mom was telling this to my Auntie Ellie and she said, Did you ask, Ollie? Oh woe, that is a low blow! What would I want with a boot? MOL
(She never did find it!)
I think you SHOULD get your own phone! And I will be calling you for sure. Come to think of it, I should have a phone too!
Yea, I think I want an iPhone! Too cool!
Love you Dia!
MOL you made moma smile with that story the part about you and your mom both going for the phone that was too cute. Yes by all means you need a phone and so does Ollie for all the late night chats.
I used to try to answer mom's cell phone. She'd come home from the gym and find it on the ground. Whenever her annoying ringer went off, I had to make it stop! MOL!
