Dilute Calico

I love to stare out of the window, namely the sliding glass doors. I could just lay there for hours (and I definitely do)!

"Magic Carpet Ride" by Steppenwolf. I'm serious. It drives me crazy and makes me scream at the top of my lungs until someone turns it down (or off)!

Favorite Toy:
I love straws and anything on a string. Oddly enough, I also love to kick and play with the video rocker chair. It's a pretty fun toy, I promise.

Favorite Nap Spot:
On the corner of mommy and daddy's bed. I can always be found napping there or on the toilet paper rack in the closet. I love to be comfortable.

Favorite Food:
Innova EVO!

I can speak "bird language" to the Mockingbirds and Bluejays who live outside. I'm bilingual!

Arrival Story:
When I was a kitty, I somehow wasn't with my mom or siblings anymore and was all alone. Someone very mean hit me with their car and left me all alone to die. I was not doing very well but a nice woman found me the next morning and took me to get a metal plate in my hip. She kept me until I felt all better, but I didn't get along very well with her other 7 cats! They teased me because I was so tiny! The nice woman gave me to her neighbor. He was mean and he would yell at me and forget to feed me for very long periods of time. The nice woman found out and took me back to her house, where one of her cats gave me two kittens! After my babies got homes, I still needed one. I didn't get along with the nice lady's cats. They teased me! The nice lady took me to a shelter where I was (finally!) spayed and where I stayed for a week until my current mommy and daddy adopted me. They said they fell in love with me the minute they saw me! They gave me a very nice forever home, and I love my new forever family! I am very spoiled and love my new home and my new life!

Landon's rough past has left her with some "problems" that have unfolded upon her adoption (false heat brought on by a neurological problem caused by trauma, for example), but we couldn't possibly love her any more than we do! Having Landon come into our lives has been by far the best thing to ever happen to us and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, special cat. Landon Dakota means the world to us.

Mrowwww! I feel like making that noise a lot today! You see, I have some post-traumatic sress issues from these bad people who were really mean to me when I was a lot younger. I've been having my flashbacks a lot today. Mom is worried like always but she's always good for some hugs and tunafish! Oh, gee, I love tunafish! Mmm! I hate sharing with my new sister, Jagger, though. She's nuts. She can get her own darn tunafish.

My Tail of Devotion for Landon Dakota

Dear Landon,
The first day you came into my life, I realized you had changed it. "I want that one," I said, pointing to the silver cage in the adoption center that contained you. It was your sad and desolate face that got me, the fact you weren't trying to draw attention to yourself like the other cats. We brought you home and you hid under the bed without coming out for days. We'd pry you out, try to feed you, but you'd rather hide. I'll never forget the first time you came out of hiding: you sat on the computer desk and just stared at us. "Now what?" you seemed to be asking. From then on, we established the kind of relationship with you that I never thought to be possible. You filled every void in our life and then some. I remember getting the phonecall from the woman who requeted the information of the family who adopted you (that'd be us), because she wanted to tell us how she had found you. I listened as she told me what that man did to you, the way he had you tied to a tree and beat you. I cried my eyes out that night and held you in my arms so tightly no matter how much you whined to be free. That was the first night you slept in our bed with us. It's as if in your own way, you wanted me to know that you were okay and in turn wanted to make sure I was okay. It'll almost be two years since you came into our life. It's almost as if I never knew life until you came into it with your silly pink nose and your big ears. What would I do without you, miss Landon? I never want to know.

This is a special Tail of Devotion

Sister, Sister!

Life with my new sister is going okay. Sometimes I even like to play with her. I'll admit it, sometimes I miss her when she's sleeping in the bedroom and I decide to sleep on the other side of the apartment. Yes, mommy even caught us giving kissies to one another. She thought it was cute but I got all angry. I'm not all mushy! I'm tough. Trust me, I still am willing to slap Hadley around if she gets in my way!
