Arrival Story:
Romeo was found wandering the streets by Unconditional Love, and they planned to adopt him out. However, they soon discovered he had FeLV, giving him a very short life expectancy. Normally, they would have had him put to sleep. However, he was such an amazing cat, especially for an ex-feral, that they didn't have the heart to do so. So they posted an ad offering to pay his vet bills if someone could take him. I had been looking for a cat at around that time. In fact, I found one, a siamese, but the adoptive home backed out on me at the last second. I had considered a "special needs" cat, but I didn't have the money to afford the extra vet bills. When I saw Romeo's ad, it seemed like fate. He was perfect for me: a special needs cat who didn't require extra money to own. My primary concern was that I was worried he wouldn't get along with my service dog, Will. However, I needn't have worried. They got along like a dream, wrestling and rough housing in a way that scared people who didn't know them, but delighted all who did.
