Arrival Story:
Oreo came to us as an angel during a very hard time. My little sister had a brain tumor removed in 2003 at the age of 8. She still has complications from it and was really sick around Christmas time 2003, just one month after her surgery. Well, my mom saw a dog walking down the street and brought him home to see how he would do with our Chow mix, Precious. He liked her a little TOO much, so we had to find him another home. This devastated my sister. Naturally, my mother felt horrible, so she went out to find a cat that needed a home. She went to a local vet's office and inquired about the 2 kittens they were advertising. They showed the kittens to my mom and brother. One was very playful and active and the other was very laidback and stayed in the back of the cage. Since my sister didn't have a lot of energy to keep up with an overly active cat, my mom got the one that was staying to itself. She came home and was a big hit and has been ever since. Nothing could have made my sister happier. Oreo is truly a blessing and I thank God for her.
