Arrival Story:
Monkey was one of dozens of kitties rescued from the overcrowded, unsanitary conditions of a huge hoarding situation. (www.70Cats.org) She was the only survivor of her litter; her mom-cat wasn't able to provide milk for them. A different mom-cat took Monkey in with her own kittens and took care of her. However . . . . . . she was greviously attacked by a dog when she was only 8 weeks old resulting in the loss of an eye and a fractured jaw. She required extensive emergency vet treatment and several days of tube feeding and care

Bio:
She reaches up to me from the floor when she wants to be picked up. And pats my face when she's hungry; and purrs like a buzz saw when she's happy. So what that she has only one eye and she makes slurping noises when she eats, and sometimes Darth Vader sounds when she breathes. So what that her already unusual "Picasso face" (1/2 orange and 1/2 dark) looks even more unusual with only one eye. She's compensated quite well; she runs and jumps and plays without a problem! and she's such an endearing, affectionate little monkey! Gotta' love her! ********************************** ********************************** ** Although she healed from the injuries, she never really fully recovered. And she was only eating the tiniest amounts no matter how I tried to tempt her to eat more; still only weighed about 2 pounds, only ½ what she should have been for her age. ********************************** ******************************** Then she suffered a stroke or seizure or something; lost mobility control and went downhill very quickly from there; so sadly, we had to have a last trip to the vet. She only lived to be about 4 months old, but she made quite an impact on everyone and she was very loved and very cherished.
