Thanks young lady. We appreciate you attention to this issue.
Check it out
Many in Rescue treat us like the humans treated Lepers!
Oh, Wait, Right, Its HUMANS who treat us like that.
It seems patterns of discrimination and, yes, stupidity, still abound in the non-furred!
Thanks Pops for loving me for who I am and not treating me any different than my mates.
Mr B with FIV (We need Love too!)
Agreed, Big Guy. Mom says that with the virus, we got an extra dose of sweetness...FIV+ cats seem to be kinder and sweeter and more loving than non FIV+. And most of us live long healthy lives...my cousin who had the FIV+ too passed at 17.
We're just cats...
BY the way...congrats on being a Black Cat today! Awesome!
love and light,
My friends Mr. B and Orange Ruffy, having myself been recently diagnosed with FIV, I now agree that we can have a good long life.
MamaCat has started feeding me raw hamburger and chicken which has good taurine in it that we cats need. Processed cat foods, canned or dry, do not have the natural taurine. Thanks kindly again Mr. B :D
An article said raw turkey is good also. And canned tuna since processing does not destroy the taurine. See Mr. B... I have been reading ;D
In just this past 3 weeks my coat is again shiny and I am back to running along in front of MamaCat and falling down waiting for tummy scritches :D
Shewt! I may make this into a Diary entry simply because more need to hear and think positively about cats with FIV.
We agree that FIV+ kitties are given a bad rap. Luckily, that attitude is starting to change (slowly, but at least it's changing).
Once Mom and Dad move to a bigger place they are planning to add some FIV+ cats they love from the Sanctuary where they volunteer. One of them is a beautiful black cat like you. His name is Titus.
Happy Black Cat appreciation day!
Meowmy thinks all kitties are great, and since she does a lot of work with peeps who have issues, and finds them mostly no different that 'regular' ones, we think she would love a meezer kitty with this FIV junk like any of us...but to date none of us have...hmmm
I hope that soon the stigma of this will be gone...and maybe even one day there will be a way to cure it!
