Arrival Story:
Rose was brought to Happily Ever After due to a foreclosure situation. Her other brothers and sisters were adopted and she was brought to the PetsMart Adoption center in hopes of finding her a home. John and I saw her every week when we volunteered there and fell in love with her, but we kept trying to resist. She was then moved to the Happily Ever After Adoption center and we went to go visit her because we missed her. We then decided it was time to adopt her.

The new arrival

Just when I was all settled in at the Bridge, I heard there was a new arrival from our house.

I was thinking that maybe Callie had made her journey and we could catch up on girl talk. Unfortunately, it was that silly boy Teebo!

I know, I know, he's a really nice cat, blah, blah, blah. But I never really got along with boy cats in life, and I'm not going to start now.

However, if I have to get along with a boy cat, he's probably the least offensive one from the house. He's certainly better than Bran!

Well, I guess I better give Teebo a chance, he does seem pretty nice, and he does have those gorgeous green eyes and earnest, sweet expression.

Awww, why not. I guess a girl has to try new things at some point, right?

Rainbow Bridge Purrs,

A very overdue thank you

I wanted to say a very sincere and heartfelt thank you from our family to all of our wonderful Catster friends who were there for us when I crossed over to the Bridge.

It was so unexpected, and it's been really hard for Mom to come back, so we apologize for our long absence.

Mom and Dad are doing well, but of course they miss me (who wouldn't - I'm adorable!). My ashes are in a beautiful pink stained glass urn, which holds 3 pictures of me as well.

I'm doing well at the Bridge, and I make sure to sprinkle angel dust on my family often, though I think I may have overdone it once early on and caused it to snow (ooops!).

Oh, and do make sure to send a friend request to the new addition to the family - even though he is a boy cat. I remember him from my time at the shelter, and he's a really nice cat.

Angelic purrs,

A view from the Bridge

It's been quite a whirlwind the last few days. I've been so busy going through orientation and getting flying lessons at the Bridge that I haven't had a chance to write a Diary Entry.

I have indeed made my journey to the Bridge. It was quite unexpected. On Wednesday morning, Mom and Dad were getting ready to leave for a trip and noticed I was acting a little funny. Me acting funny turned into me having a seizure. Dad called the vet right away, and while they were waiting for the vet to call back, I had another one.

Mom and Dad quickly finished getting ready (they tag teamed so they could watch me) and took me in. The vet took a glucose reading and my blood sugar was really low, so they thought the seizures were cause by low blood sugar and told Mom and Dad to go on their trip.

Mom and Dad set off for Illinois, a little worried, but confident that the vet would take wonderful care of me. Over the next few hours, the vet and staff worked on getting my blood sugar up by giving me Karo syrup and IV with sugar water in it. I was giving them my patented Rosie spunk and I was really hungry, so it seemed at first like this was the issue.

However, a few hours later, my blood sugar started going wonky again and I became listless. The vet felt I should have overnight monitoring in case of another seizure, so I got transferred to the emergency vet by Grandma and Grandpa, and Mom and Dad turned around and started for home.

Mom and Dad made it back to Green Bay by 9:30pm and went straight to the emergency vet. Unfortunately, I had a few more seizures and was given Valium and anti-seizure medication. I was pretty out of it, but I finally perked my head up a little for Mom when she was talking to me.

Mom and Dad came back to take me back to my regular vet in the morning for more observation, but I kept going downhill and didn't even stand up at all on Thursday.

When Mom and Dad came into the vet's office on Thursday afternoon, it became clear that I was ready to make my journey to the Bridge because my little body had simply given out. There was something else going on besides my diabetes, but due to my age and the condition I was in, it was too much to ask me to go through more testing, so they decided to help me on my journey.

I know that Mom and Dad are sad that I'm not with them anymore on earth, but I'm still there with them in spirit, and I've been giving the other cats in the house instructions to help keep the house running like it should.
