Black and White
Quiet naps in the sunshine. Sliced turkey breast. Mmmm! Showing off Melanie's latest haircut. Melanie gave her snow boots this past winter.
The CRATE!!! The CAR!!! Because the CAR!!! means the CRATE!!!
Pink mousey girl and a stuffed musical saxophone.
Favorite Nap Spot:
Center of the sunbelt in front of the sliding glass doors.
Besides sliced turkey breast she loves white cheeses.
Lilly comes when she is called. She sits. She lays down. She recognizes engine sounds and will be the first at the door for one she recognizes. She doesn't even raise her head if she doesn't recognize it.
I adopted Lilly at Orlando's 1998 Women's Conference. The local SPCA was onsite. When I spoke with her foster mother that evening I was told she'd spent the last four weeks being 'little sister' to four BIG dogs. A couple of nights later, as I was preparing their dinner and sister Phoebe Ann was meowing her head off - Now! Now! Now! - I realized instead of meowing Lilly was 'barking.' She's a quick study my Lilly and has become almost just as demanding with the meows during mealtime as her older sister.
Lilly is my treasure. In her youth she was my curious girl. Always wanting to play, explore, and get up in a window to watch the world go by. She still lays in front of the sliding glass doors observing the birds and squirrels feed and play. She will still bowl her sister over in a minute if Phoebe gets in her way. No matter that Sly is bigger, she let him know from the beginning that she is in charge. These days my Lilly's arthritis keeps her grounded. I purchased some doggie steps and trained her, my smart cookie, to use them so she can access the mama's bed and her favorite sofa more easily. Her arthritis does not slow down the sharpening of her claws on my new furniture though. It's okay. Soon, it will be old furniture and replaced but Ms. Lilly will always be my heart.

Code name STORM
Lillian Louise is named after my favorite of my mother's aunts, Lillian and my favorite of my mom's friends, Louise. From the beginning Lilly exhibited so much of their personalities. She is sweet, loving, full of energy, and independent. She is my Angel Cake. The "supermodel" of cats.

Not that I am vain or anything but I do love a good haircut. Melanie, my groomer, did a wonderful job. I didn't think so at the time though and boy did I let everyone in the place know it. But I am cute. Mom can't get a good photo though (tee hee). I'll eventually let her. I tell her everyday that I miss Sly. She says she knows because we all love and miss him, but he'll be home from school soon. She still won't let me go in his enclosure. She says Sly needs his own space. She also said she knows I will try to make it my own and will purposely be mean to him so I can keep it. (Sigh) She knows me well. She calls me her contradictory cat. Phoebe is pretending she's Inspectress Poirot. She's actually got the accent down to a T. My mom put my hero, STORM, up on my page. I never hide under the bed like Phoebe when there is thunder. STORM is my #1 because she can control the weather and she has diva hair like mine - when it's long. Wonder Woman is my #2 because she has a plane like the ones I watch outside the window and her hair is so manageable. Cat Woman completes the list. Mom calls me Cat Woman when I do something I'm not suppossed to be doing (tee hee) like scratching on the new furniture. There is no point in scratching on the old furniture.

People take one look at me and tell my mom that I'm so pretty and charming 'cause I wear a tuxedo, have natural 'sooty' eyeliner, and a freckled nose. Mom read online that Tuxedo Cats are 200% smarter than other cats. I agree. I am actually you know what on four paws. At least I was back in the day. I'm still a 'runner' though. My mom always has to caution the vet, the groomer, and anyone who comes to visit not to trust my sweet face. Some of them even have it listed in their computer systems. :) I have long hair but I prefer it short. Mom says I'm a contradiction because in order to get short hair I have to get in the CRATE!!! Gotta go. There are squirrels on the deck!
