Arrival Story:
I lost my cat Fuzz and the house seemed so empty...I couldn't take it...checked out petfinder.com and found a rescue near me the home for friendless animals. The people there were awesome it is the neatest rescue! They had 174 cats in a big building and they were all roaming free! NO CAGES!!! They did have a small room for the special needs kitties that had some cages but even in there the cats were out...except for one bully cat...then the others were put up in there and he was let out. They all had time out of cages which for rescue is amazing! The people there knew the cats so well they all had names and they knew their personality and quirks...Dixie had been there for 3 years. A farmer had found her and her litter of kittens under his tractor and he called the rescue. She and her babies were taken in and her babies were adopted out but she was waiting for me. I was immediately taken by her picture and her biography which stated she was good with kids and she is awesome! I went in that place looking for a cat like Fuzz....came out with a totally different looking cat but she is the best little thing! We all love her to pieces!

I am Mom's lap warmer...whenever she sits down it is MY job to hop up on her lap and hunker down and keep her lap toasty. That is my only job...and I take it SERIOUSLY! I don't play with toys, or mice (are those things sick or what?) I am not amused by any sort of string or feather etc. I don't play...I lap sit. One day about 3 weeks ago she brings in this little scruffy terrier and announces that she is keeping it. Ok I'm not afraid of the little terror...uh I mean terrier. So I sashay by the dog and this silly dog thinks I want to be it's pal or something...geez! dogs! Ok well I put up with it for quite a while...I still hop up on Mom's lap but now that dog is up there with me...hogging her legs..so now I'm down to laying on only one thigh. Well it's a bit inconvenient to say the least but I can deal with it. The dog even licks my ears....well I will let her do that a while but enough is enough and I run off to be by myself a while. Well after a week or so I realize that this little dog is going to stay so I had to straighten "it" out. There I was laying on Mom's lap and up the side of her chair comes the annoying little dog, bouncing and wagging her tail that Mom finds so adorable (gag) and she starts talking to the dog! I mean "HELLO" I'm HERE!! Geez! People! Well the little bouncy dog bounced over too close to me so I bopped it on the nose and told it off! Mom didn't like that. She made ME get off her lap!! Up jumped the little ingrate and I was out in the cold. I am NOT accustomed to such behavior!

Well I've had to correct that dog a couple of times since then and let it know that I am the lap sitter and I don't like to share my lap. Then one of the little humans had a birthday and got a car with this neat little wire thingy sticking up. Hmm...what's that? I've had the boring ball on a spring toy..ho hum...boring...but this thing it's so light! It's so....bouncy! Well I had a blast batting it around and Mom was like so amazed..she says Look kids Dixie is playing! Guess that's the first time she ever saw a cat play?

Then the silly dog got in trouble for bolting out the door...ha ha! Now she has to drag around a long clothesline to teach her not to do that. What's really fun is that I can play with that rope and actually STOP the dog!! It's hilarious! I control the dog!!!

Mom thinks that bringing that dog in the house encourages me to play now...and she thinks it's a good thing! Man I hope she doesn't get any more wild ideas like that and bring even MORE animals into the house! Guess I'll have to just show them my stuff and put them in their place! Now where did that little car go...I want to see that wire thingy again.....
