Dear Catster Friends,
The wonderful handsome men of Catster have met the challenge and have taken on the difficult task of naming Dream Girls. Angel Dream Girls and Dreamettes and I, Genny the Generator, am Dreamette #5! If you are shocked, I am Super Duper Shocked!
Best of all it was our dear friend, Angel Alfie, who told me. He is a very handsome loving orangie who we loved long before he became an angel. He is also one of Samoa's Dreamboats so if you don't know him do visit his page. There you will meet him ( and fall in love) and you can read the names of all the girl kitties who have been honored. I have a hard time believing that MY name is in such esteemed company!
I don't know how to do hyperlinks but Alfie is catster #41805 abd Pete is #59817. Pete made the announcement. The others that I know are in the group are Milo, Ollie, Teddy Bearz and Tigger. The boys would like suggestions from you guys so recommned some ladies to them.
Please remember, girls, that this is all in fun and if you aren't chosen this time, you could be chosen somewhere down the line. ALL Catster girls are beautiful inside and out. The boys don't know everyone so have a male friend suggest you. They are great guys and open to suggestions!
Thank you, guys, for choosing me! I am one happy kitty and concats to all the chosen girls. Remember if I was chosen anyone could be! When Mommy told Daddy Shrek that I was chosen as a Dreamette, Daddy said that I was more like a Nightmarette. How mean is that?!!!!
Good luck, Catster Girls!
Love
Genny (the Generator)

To the Gentlemen of Catster I withdraw my challenge with an apology. It wasn't that you didn't care enough about us. It was because you thought we were ALL Dreamgirls and that is going to make all the ladies very happy. I think that is a wonderful Valentine's gift to us all. I placed a heart for you on my page.
I want to thank with mucho kitty kisses whoever sent me the anoneemouse Cutie Pie Award! I am so flattered and honored. I raced all around the house in Crazy Genny mode as Mommy calls it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Well, ladies, I guess I learned my lesson. I will never be as ladylike as Elise but I will try to curb my impulsiveness but I am Genny the Generator and I guess I will roar through life making mistakes and getting in trouble.
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone and your families. Hope you get lots of catnip mice and lots of yummy treats!
Love you all
Crazy Happy Genny

Hi Catster Friends,
I was sooo happy to find out that my friend, Samoa, chose the studly Gunnarr T. for Dreamboat #62. What a great honor for a great guy!
Samoa is not only a lady of beauty and great taste but I have always admired her courage in doing her Dreamboat list. That is a very formidable task when faced with all the handome men on Catster! It is just one handsome furface after another! How does Samoa choose?
Well, I was "talking" to Gunnie's sister, Peekie and I started thinking that it is too bad that none of the Catster guys think we are pretty enough to be Cutie Pies or whatever they would want to call us. Surely we ladies deserve some recognition too. It would be awfully nice if one of you brave He-Cats would start a list for us ladies and ladies -in- training. I know that I would love it and so would Elise. Maybe some of you other ladies could comment on your feelings about this. Is any Catster male brave enough for the Challenge?
Many hugs & smooches to all for Valentine's Day and always
Genny

As a one-of-a-kind cat sanctuary, Tabby’s Place is…
An Adoption Center, finding loving homes for cats. Most of our residents will go on to be adored in forever homes of their own. But, any cats who are not adopted find a home for life at the sanctuary.
A Hospital, providing first-rate medical care for every one of our cats. When a homeless feline becomes a Tabby’s Place cat, she can count on having her needs fully met. Cost is never a consideration in caring for our cats, and we will do everything in our power to give each cat we rescue the happiest, healthiest and longest life possible.
A Hospice, nurturing chronically and terminally ill cats in a warm, loving environment. For some of our residents, Tabby’s Place will be their forever home, where they can live out their lives in dignity and comfort.
Most Tabby’s Place cats come from crowded public shelters where they were once scheduled for euthanasia. From healthy kittens to frail seniors, these courageous and cherished cats find a true haven at Tabby’s Place.
Tabby's Place will be hosting Catoberfest at the sanctuary (in Ringoes, NJ) on Saturday, October 1st, and 100% of proceeds will help us to rescue and nurture cats in need. This fun-filled day will include:

I know Elise said it all but I wanted to say my own "Goodbye" to my friends and to thank everyone who prayed for me when I was little and almost died from Fading Kitten Syndrome. All of you helped pull me through.
You are all so special to me. Maybe someday we can come back. We never know what the future holds.
You are always in my heart

Hi Everyone,
If you read Elise's diary you know we won't be on for awhile. Mommy Holes in the Head has more holes in her head! Who would have thought that was possible? Not me!!!! There can't be any brain left up there at all! I wonder where it goes?
At this rate she may as well stop the fat making steroids since there is no brain left to protect. Will she then look skinny like her pictures instead of like a big marshmallow? I have so many questions. It is good to have an inquiring mind.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgivng with lots of turkey. I hope we all get some except for Elise and Toby because they are bad. Bitsy told me that turkey legs are big like clubs. I hope I get a turkey leg to beat them up with.
I will miss you
Sweet little me, Genny

Dear Catster Friends
Today Mommy honored all of the kitties who belonged to members of her newsletter. She would also like to honor the Catster kitties who passed on this year on Catster. She will just put a little of what was in her newsletter and dedicat eit to our catster friends at the Bridge.
"We who choose to surround ourselves with lives more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan. “
-Irving Townsend "The Once Again Prince"
Lend Me a Cat
...Author Unknown
“
I will lend to you for a while, a cat", God said.
For you to love him while he lives and to mourn for him when he is dead.
Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe for two or three.
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you and should his stay be brief,
You'll always have his memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise that he will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught below I want this cat to learn.
I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true.
And from the folks that crowd life's land, I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love; nor think the labor vain;
nor hate me when I come to take my lovely cat again?
I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, thy will be done,
For all the joys this cat will bring, the risk of grief we'll run."
Will you shelter him with tenderness?
Will you love him while you may?
And for the happiness you'll know forever-grateful stay?
But should I call him back much sooner than you've planned,
Please brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.
If, by your love, you've managed, my wishes to achieve,
In memory of him you've loved; be thankful; do not grieve.
Cherish every moment of your furry charge.
He filled your home with meows of joy the time he was alive.
Let not his passing take from you those memories to enjoy.
"I will lend to you, a cat", God said, “and teach you all you have to do.
And when I call him back to heaven, you will know he loved you too.”
Words cannot describe the sense of loss we feel when our faithful friend dies. It is often one of life's most heart-wrenching experiences. Recognizing the importance of remembering our cherished pets, the second Sunday of September is the official National Pet Memorial Day. This is a day set aside to remember our departed companions and special members of our family.
One of the things many of us find helpful is to remember and honor the memory of our pets on an annual basis. And the advantage of a day like National Pet Memorial Day, rather than the date of their death, is that we are likely to find solace among others who share the same feelings as we do.
This year, National Pet Memorial Day is September 12th.
It's so important to recognize that everyone experiences loss in a different way and that it's ok for us to acknowledge our love for our companions and the grief we feel when a "pet" passes on.
For some of us, these are not pets, they are special members of our family, and many times they are our "kids".
Even those who are not animal lovers can show support for a friend or co-worker who loses a pet by simply giving a sympathy card or telling us "I'm sorry for the loss your dog." You may never realize how thoughtful and special we will think this gesture is.
Suggestions for marking National Pet Memorial Day
Write a poem, story, or song about and/or dedicated to your pet
write a letter to your pet expressing feelings you may be struggling with, tell them how much you miss them, or thank them for the wonderful memories you have
share photographs and stories with family or friends; remembering the special times, the love and joy they brought us
visit their burial site, hold a remembrance ceremony with family and friends
create a living memorial by planting a tree, bush, or flower garden
create an online memorial, whether it be on a pet memorial website, blog or Squidoo lensexplore the Internet for pet memorial sites with inspiring stories of love and devotion between people and their companions
make a personalized magazine cover for your pet, a great way to catalog the fond memories of the times shared using pictures, and great headlines to share with everyone
use this day to volunteer at your local animal shelter or a rescue group
use this day to make a donation in memory of your companion to a local animal charity, shelter or rescue group

God bless the families of all our friends who have gone to the Bridge. Their loss is great but, we hope in time, their loving memories will be greater.
When that happens it will be a purrfect day!

Hi Catster Friends,
Last week none of the phones in our house worked although Mommy paid the bill. Daddy Shrek was too cheap to call the Cable Man to fix them and decided that he would do it himself on the weekend.
On Saturday he went into Mommy's and my bedroom and moved the end table and started playing with the wires. I thought we weren't supposed to do that! I could hear Daddy muttering those words that we are not supposed to say so being the good girl that I am I thought I'd better help him.
Sure enough he had his tools all in a mess and wires all over the place. I decided to organize them for him. What an ingrate! He pulled me away from the tools and wires which I was arranging nicely for him and dumped me on the bed. Well, that would not do! How could I help him from the bed?
I now had to crawl under the end table and just stick my little arms out and try to arrange the tools neatly for him. Do you know that he didn't even appreciate that!!!!
He scooped me up and hung me unceremoniously over his arm and marched me out of the bedroom. Mommy heard the commotion as he slammed the door and uttered more bad words and walked into the hall with me. I put on my sweetest, most innocent la di da face and looked up at Mommy who yelled "Give me my baby!". I then did my best Sarah Bernhardt imitation by whimpering. Daddy got yelled at; I got hugs and treats! One for me and 0 for Daddy.
It was a purrfect day!
