Arrival Story:
Poodle was pulled out of my sister's ceiling with 3 of his siblings. Just one of several litters. Since my Pooder died, and I've always said the ONLY good thing about losing a cat is getting a kitten, I decided to help my sister by adopting one of those many kittens she has. He came home when he was about 8 weeks old.

Bio:
He had a funny tail, thus his name Poodle. It was fuzzy, then not, then fuzzy, then not, then fuzzy. The back of his tail had no fur until the tip. One of his sister's tails was almost hairless. He was very fuzzy and I expected he'd be long-haired when he got older because he looked long-haired when we got him. In my experience they thin out and then bloom again, these long-haired kitties. Update: He bloomed! And now his tail is fully fuzzy and very fuzzy at that!

Life IS good now. You should see my tail! It's no longer fuzzy, not fuzzy, fuzzy, not fuzzy, fuzzy as Mom said it. It's just FUZZY! I'm getting bigger, too and Mommy says I'm super soft, like Lina.

I really like my new sisters. We had a rough time at first. Not sure how it happened but all four of us (and Mommy and Daddy) got a fungus on our skin. Maybe from the house I came from. But there it cleared up fast. Here it didn't. It took months and months. All us kitties were shaved and we had medicine put on us twice a day and got a smelly bath once a week at the V-E-T's. Mommy cried a lot about it. Mom and Dad both tried to keep us kitties off the carpetted floors by putting the refrigerator in the doorway and putting stuff all around it and above it to keep us from getting out of the kitchen. But I kept finding a way out anyway! Mom called me a Houdini.

Then Mom and Dad left us with a couple of uncles. They couldn't keep me out of the living room either. Dad came back in a few weeks and found us all clean of the fungus! Finally. It was like 6 months. I was quite big by then.

When Mom came home a few weeks later, she had two kids with her. I now have a human sister and brother. I wasn't sure about them at first and they spoke funny but now they're getting good at speaking like Mom and Dad but with accents. Mom says they came from Poland. They're all right now. I'm not as afraid of them as some of my cat sisters are. They play with me and pet me. Sometimes they chase me or scare me, but we're all getting to know each other better.

My kitty sisters still stay away from the kids for the most part. Elora sometimes comes out to check on what they're doing. But mostly they all stay in Mom and Dad's room until the kids are gone or asleep. I really like Belle Belle. She's very pretty. She doesn't like me as much though. Maybe thinks I like to play too much or too rough. Elora's easier to play with and Lina just kind of walks away from me most of the time. Oh well, I'm their brother now and they gotta love me!

Mommy and Daddy cut my claws. I didn't mind it. I got tired of Mom screaming in the middle of the night just because I pounced on something moving under the blankets. Now she doesn't scream.

We'll that's all for now. Mom's gonna try to find some pictures of me to put up here so you can see how I've grown.

Now that I know how to type....

I used to be in a little home with lots of kitties and some doggies and I had my brothers and sisters and more that kind of were brothers and sisters, and two mommies. And lots of itchy things.

Then one day, my new Mommy started to visit. I didn't know who she was then but everyone started calling me "Poodle." New Mommy came up every week and then one day took me in a carrier to a new home. It was a long ride. I got to ride with my new Daddy part of the way.

When I got home, new Mommy found some of the itchy things. She put something on my neck and those itchies got upset! They tortured me but some would fall off and new Mommy stuck them onto tape and threw them away. She called them "fleas." She helped get them off my face and out of my tail and after a couple of hours I didn't have any anymore. Man, that felt so much better!

But then the other kitties had itchy things and so did Mommy. But it wasn't fleas. It was a fungus. Back at the other house, it was found that a lot of the kitties and people had ringworm. So either new Mommy brought it to our new house because she visited or I did. Well, now everyone had it, including Daddy. Mommy said I started looking scraggly so she didn't take any more pictures. She didn't want people to see me all scraggly. She and Daddy grab each of every morning and night and put stuff on our fur.

I feel better now and Mommy says I look better, too. I've got short fur most places. She thinks I'm in between bloomings. But she feels my ears and can't feel any fungus and they feel my fur all over to see if they can find any. They even feel my tail and Mommy says the fur is starting to grow in the bare patches. I still have long furs on my back and Mommy thinks she saw some fuzziness in my cheeks. She says Elora and Thumbellina went through short-hair phases and then bloomed big and fuzzy and I probably will, too.

Elora and Belle (that's Thumbellina) and Lina (I can't say her big name) are my new sisters. Elora's really big and fuzzy. I can jump on her and still not find any skin! Belle's is different but she has really big paws! She just got shaved. Almost all her fur is short now. Well, Mommy and Daddy say that kitty is Belle, but I don't recognize her at all! Except maybe those paws. Lina is kind of stand-offish. She's not mean though. She stopped smacking me for the most part.

None of them will play with me as much as I want to play, but Mommy and Daddy play with me and there are lots of toys to play with. I didn't have any cat toys at my first house. There are lots here. I like normal stuff, too, like paper towels. Those are fun! Newspapers and receipts are good too. I like cords but Mommy doesn't like it if I play with those! She squirts me! I don't like that!

Well, Mommy says the fungus is going away on everybody now that we have new stuff to treat it with. They have a hard time finding spots of it on me. There's a little on my chin and one spot on my shoulder. They can't find the one on my left side anymore. Lina didn't have much of it and it's going away on her. Elora had some big spots but Mommy says it's getting better. And she says now that Belle has short fur, they can see she's getting better, too! Mommy is relieved. I am, too. I don't want anymore itchies! I just want to play, and eat, and sleep in Mommy's lap or on Daddy's tummy.

Oh, did I tell you we have a fountain for water here? It's neat. It's big enough that we could all four drink at one time, but that's not really happened yet. I like the running water better than water in a bowl.

When I first came home, I was really small. 1.2 lbs, Mommy said. But now I'm over 3lbs. Daddy weighed me. So I'm growing like I should. I got all my pokes from the V-E-T, too. Mommy says we're going to get kids in a few months. I know what those are. There were some at the other house. They're pretty cool. And they like to play so that's a bonus!
