Arrival Story: I met Big Head as we called him when I started dating my ex-wife. She got the Head and her ex got the dog. Good move. Head was about 8 when we met. They called him stinker as he was not neutered and marked his territory regularly. When he lived in the burbs this was OK but when she was in an apartment. Well. Stinky. She let him out the window so he was still and in/out cat. He was not overly friendly when we met and he just sat on the window wanting "Me-Out". He would also just howl sometimes. Quite annoying but she made a federal case out of all this. She wanted to give him up but I suggested that if he was neutered he would no longer spray, yowl, fight, hiss, bite, HoHo you get the picture. He was a big Tom Cat Strutting his stuff. I was really kind of sorry to take him to the snipper. I know, I know, but... Well, that was when we found out just how big he was. Twenty Five Pounds!! Lordy that is big. Well he did calm down a bit. He fought less. Wandered less. He did do a few MIA's for up to 5 days before we moved to my digs. Well he had a great time here and that will be for another day when I am fuller of full. RIP Big Head Buddy! Man Pal! Guardian of the Garage! Patrol Leader!

Bio: He did a patrol around the property about every 2-4 hours. He would stop outside my garage and wait to see if I would see him. If I did I would stop grinding or welding or lathing. He would then come in and check each corner. Walk into the pump room. Come out. Walk over to me and bump his big head against my leg. I would give him a pet and he would resume patrol. Every now and then we would be out and see some creature off in the back or front. Maybe a pet from up or down the street. Stinker would be patrolling and stop dead. He would look hard. Then start walking. Walking. Walking toward the intruder. Dog Cat No matter. Usually when he was half way he would be noticed. Intruder stops sniffing or digging or whatever and stares at Head. He does not even slow down. He keeps coming. Inexorable. Steady. Being his size it was really odd to see him moving fast, but, fast he was, wow was he fast. He did this odd kind of speed up. Like a rheostat being turned over a few seconds. It was not like any cat I have ever seen. He would smoothly go from walk to trot to jog to run to "Captain, Full Ahead Ramming Speed!" We never saw any contact. Never did any intruder wait to see if it was bluff and fluff or crust and bust. When he saw heels he would reverse. Full to run to jog to trot to walk and stop. Sit. Watch. Resume patrol. The Big Head! What a hero cat. A legend cat. A cat of ages. My Big Bud the Head!

Hey furs
Thanks fur reminding me of my Birfdayz on day 20th.
I have been busy spreading healing star-dust on my pal Rumpy so did not even notice the day was coming.
So now that we are all paying attention my family furs also have special days this month
Me, Stinker Jan 20
Pee Jan 20
Amber Jan 21
Koko Jan 31
Inky Jan 30
Now we all know that there is NO-WAY that our real birfdayz are on these days. Pops needed to add stuff when he set up our pages so he figured near to his. *whispers Jan 31 and he is OLD*.
We cats really do not pay as much attention to this at persons so we went along. Well it turns out this is kind of a neat idea. We now get together at this time of year. We come back from where we are flying in the Universe and have a Par-taa!!
**This year we are a bit toned down and request any special notice be instead sent to Rumpy! Our little pal needs a lot of support. It is not as bad as it could have been but he needs purrs.
I will be back to my duties at my Group Cat Book Club soon! Please come by and think about joining if you read books about, including, or by, Cats, of course. MOL
