Arrival Story:
Belle is actually my ex-boyfriend's mother's cat. I made this page as a memorial for her and it seems wrong to delete it. She was a shelter rescue from the Charlottesville SPCA in December of 2008. She was found as a stray shortly beforehand and was adopted at less than 6 months old.

She was a very playful cat. She was mostly a one person cat, favoring my bf's mother who was the only one that could cuddle with her, until she became very ill when she grew to be more docile with everyone. She loved to eat and to play often at the same time. She lost a battle that began in May 2010 when she came down with pancreatitis. This turned into nonregenerative anemia, resulting in progressive weakness, loss of appetite, and lethargy. Blood transfusions, prednisone and iron supplements along with an improved holistic diet were to little avail. Belle passed away at home on July 29, 2010, the night before what might have been her final vet visit. She is in kitty heaven keeping the mice on their toes and the laser pointers busy.
