Arrival Story: This handsome orangie showed up in the neighborhood about January of this year. At first I didn't know if he was a stray or a feral, but one day I looked out of the kitchen window and there he was sleeping on Charlie's blankets on the bench on the front porch, so then I knew he was a stray. It took a while for him to trust me. Some days he seemed skittish and some days he didn't. Don't know how old he is but he seems to be a young cat. He's not a very big male-about 9 pounds or so. You can definitely tell he was someone's cat. I think he had lived inside and I think he might have been dropped off somewhere in the neighborhood (lots of cats live around here). He likes other cats. He loves Charlie but Charlie picks on him sometimes. It is strange that Charlie tolerates him because Charlie hates other cats and runs them out of "his" yard. Sometimes I find them both sleeping next to each other on the porch bench or in the bushes next to the house.

Bio: He is named after Firestar, the leader of Thunderclan in the Warriors books. I wish I could see him more. I think he comes around more than I know, but I just don't happen to be around or see him at those times.
Sad Update--January 21, 2011
I came home from work today and was talking to my next-door-neighbor about Kenji. She mentioned that about 2 or 3 months ago, our neighbor who lives across the street (she's a police officer with the city), found Firestar's body on the highway parallel with our street. He had been hit by a car. :(
I had talked with our other neighbor across the street when I first got Kenji and she said she had seen him a month before. I told her I hadn't seen him in about two months and I was glad that she had seen him after I did because I was worried about him and I didn't know if he was still around.
Rest In Peace dear Firestar.
