Arrival Story: We have an old abandoned barn behind our cats where a bunch of feral cats live,so my mom and I started putting food out for them and Jack,at the time a skinny two year old tabby finally trusted us enough to adopt him. We brought him to the vet and had him vaccinated and neutered and brought him home in 2009.

At a cat show in Feb.2012,I won first best in show in Household Cat Category!
(11-9-12) My handsome, sweet, wonderful Jack Tar has gone to the Bridge. No words can even describe how sick I feel about it and how much I miss him and what I'd do to have him back. Being a former feral cat, though always grateful to be living inside, every now and then Jack would sneak outside. No matter how many times we tried to avoid this happening,he would shoot out across the door, and into the yard,to the freedom he had been used to having for so many years. He had been getting out every so often for the past three years, and apparently,on November7,2012,he snuck out without my knowing. I had been home after school while my mom was out somewhere, until she came home, and told me she had found Jack laying in the grass under a tree, and he wasn't moving. I honestly have no way of knowing what happened to him. Our neighbors are crazy jerks,a dog could have gotten him,but the likely suspect is he got hit by a car and then made it to the grass in our yard to die. He looked uninjured, though, just a bit of blood in his mouth, but it was too late and he was gone....
We miss you,Jack, your sister Jenny, too,we hope you know how much we loved you!
HI! OK,SO IN MY LAST DIARY I MENTIONED THAT MY OLD FERAL SISTER JENNY IS NOW A HOUSECAT. SHE WAS,EH,MISSING,AS I'M SURE YOU HEARD FROM GIDGIT,BUT NOW WE KNOW SHE'S SAFE AND SOUND! I KEEP SNEAKING DOWN TO THE BASEMENT TRYING TO GET HER TO COME UPSTAIRS,BUT SHE'S STILL SCARED. HMM,THAT'S THE OPPOSITE OF ME,CAUSE WHEN I BECAME A HOUSE CAT,I WAS READY TO SLEEP ON THE BED THE FIRST NIGHT. BUT WE'RE ALL DIFFERENT!! STILL HOPING FOR PATCHES...
CURRENT MOOD:CURIOUS ABOUT JENNY
HELLO. EASTER WAS YESTERDAY. IT WAS SAD. MY PATCHES WASN'T THERE. LAST EASTER WAS FUN,I GOT TO TALK WITH PATCHES! I MISS HER. AT LEAST SOMETHING HAPPENED ON FRIDAY NIGHT THAT MAKES ME FEEL A LITTLE BETTER. MY REAL,BIOLOGICAL (MOM IS PRETTY SURE!) SISTER JENNY BECAME AN OFFICIAL MEMBER OF THE FAMILY! SHE,LIKE ME,WAS BORN A FERAL,TO OUR MOM (ADOPTED HUMAN MOM KARLI BELIEVES IS VERNA) A FEW YEARS AGO. JENNY AND I WERE ALWAYS TOGETHER,AND IT WAS A LITTLE HARD WHEN I BECAME A HOUSECAT TO LEAVE HER. EVERYTIME I WOULD GO OUTSIDE I WOULD CHECK ON HER,MAKE SURE SHE WAS OK,ASK FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME IF SHE WANTED TO BE A HOUSECAT. THE ANSWER WAS ALWAYS NO,SHE WAS WAY TOO TIMID. SATURDAY MORNING TALK WAS SPREADING THROUGH THE HOUSE THAT FRIDAY NIGHT MOM HAD TAKEN IN ANOTHER FERAL CAT. THE CAT WAS UP ON HER BED,SO I DIDN'T GET TO SEE WHO IT WAS UNTIL SATURDAY NIGHT. I USUALLY SLEEP WITH MOM'S MOM AT NIGHT,AND SATURDAY NIGHT,JENNY WAS SLEEPING WITH MOM'S MOM. I WAS SOUND ASLEEP WHEN I HEARD A NOISE. "JENNY?" I CREPT UP FROM THE EDGE OF THE BED AND SNIFFED THE NEW CAT. IT WAS HER! OH,I WAS SO SO SO HAPPY! WE SNUGGLED AND SNUGGLED. I HAVE MY SISTER BACK,AND SHE'S HERE TO STAY! OH,HAPPY JACK!!!
CURRENT MOOD:HAPPY,REALLY,REALLY,TRULY HAPPY,THAT HASN'T HAPPENED IN A LONG TIME.
HEY!! WHOA,I HAD A BIT OF AN ADVENTURE LAST NIGHT! YOU KNOW HOW I STILL LIKE GOING OUTSIDE EVEN THOUGH I KNOW I HAVE A WONDERFUL HOME? I MEAN,I LOVE MY HOME,AND NEVER WANT TO BE A FERAL HOMELESS KITTY AGAIN,BUT I DO LIKE GOING OUTSIDE AND SEEING MY FERAL FRIENDS WHO ARE TOO SCARED TO COME IN THE HOUSE. AND,PLUS,THE WEATHER HAS BEEN SO NICE HERE. WELL,YESTERDAY I WENT OUTSIDE IN THE AFTERNOON. MOM WAS GOING TO SEE A MOVIE,AND BEFORE SHE LEFT SHE WENT OUTSIDE AND CHECKED FOR ME. I WOULDN'T COME IN. I RACED OFF IN THE DIRECTION OF THE BACK FENCE WHICH I USUALLY CLIMB AND THEN HEAD INTO THE BACKYARD. THAT WAY,I'M PRETENDING I'M REALLY OUTSIDE IN THE WILD,BUT I FEEL SAFE. MOM LEFT FOR THE MOVIE. WHEN SHE CAME BACK,I WASN'T BACK. SHE KEPT CHECKING,BUT I WOULDN'T COME IN. THEN SHE GOT WORRIED. I DIDN'T USUALLY STAY OUT THIS LATE. I HAD ON MY SAFETY COLLAR AND NAME TAG WITH ALL THE INFORMATION AND STUFF ON IT,BUT I WASN'T COMING IN. RIGHT BEFORE BED MOM CHECKED THE GARAGE. IT HAD BEEN LEFT OPEN A TEENY TINY CRACK SO THAT I COULD SQUEEZE IN IF I NEEDED TO. SHE CALLED ME,AND I CAME RUNNING IN. SHE HAS NO IDEA WHERE I WAS,AND I UNFORTUNATELY CAN'T TELL HER CAUSE PEOPLE HAVEN'T LEARNED CAT LANGUAGE YET,BUT ALL THAT MATTERED WAS THAT I WAS SAFE. THE BAD PART? NO ONE LET ME OUTSIDE TODAY!
