Seeing double???

or can we be at 2 different places at the same time?

No, you're seeing double...and triple in one case! When mom got Lily and Chloe, they were supposedly the last of our litter. They look identical but mom can tell them apart.

Well, mom went back to the reptile store today to let them know how we're all doing and what names the girls have now. When she walked in, in the cage that we were kept in was another set of manx girls that looked identical to us. One black one like me (but she has no tail at all where as I have a little nub of a tail) and a tortie manx that looks identical to Lily and Chloe with the exception that she has a little nub of a tail where as the other 2 girls have regular tails. So, mom asked about them. Come to find out, those 2 are indeed from our litter and the owners kept them and now for some unknown reason, decided to put them up for adoption.

So, they found themselves a new home with us. Mom is having a hard time right now keeping everyone straight. My twin is going to have to go to the vet next week cuz it looks like she has a hernia or something coming out of her little pooper hole. A friend mentioned "cancer" and mom hopes and prays it's nothing serious cuz mom's mom just died 3 weeks ago today of cancer...please keep your paws crossed that it's nothing serious!

OMC!!! Guess what???????

Mom adopted my 2 remaining tortie sisters today! I have a few pictures of my sisters in my photo album from the day she adopted me. The longer haired tortie got adopted last week and the 2nd mohawk sister got adopted on Saturday right before mom got to the reptile store. Mom wanted to see if any of my siblings were left when she went in there the other day. She was thinking about adopting one but couldn't make up her mind which one she wanted. So, she waited to see if either would be adopted in the next few days so it would make her decision easier.

Although there's a gazillion furbutts in the family already, none of them play with me. I'm finding things to play with and it's not always good things. Plus a lot of the others are getting up there in age and they don't want to play anymore, etc and really just don't want to be bothered by a kitten full of energy. So, today at lunch, mom talked it over with a coworker who's also a cat lover. Mom said she didn't want another cat but yet she knew I'd do better with another one my age. She thinks she's being selfish by not wanting another cat but yet she thinks she's being selfish in taking in another cat. She said it's kind of like a no-win situation.

So, after lunch, she called the reptile store and the girls were still available. So, mom went and adopted them. It didn't take her but 5 or 10 minutes after getting them home to give them names. They're now called Lily and Chloe and she'll create pages for them in a bit.

One thing though...they're not special like me...they both have tails! MOL!

Don't like to be cooped up

Mom found that out the hard way! Mom got the bad news that her mommy was in the hospital and they didn't think she'd come out alive. It was so sudden and definitely unexpected. So, mom packed up me and Daisy and hit the road. The rest of the furbutts were being cared for by friends. The car ride was 19 hours straight and I definitely voiced my dislike of being cooped up in the cat carrier. I let mom have it...i tested my vocal chords and I didn't stop. She threatened that she was going to stick me in the bed of the truck if I didn't stop. I did not like being trapped like that.

Then, we get to grandma's house and what does mom do, she traps me in the bathroom...that just meant more echo! We were at grandma's house for a week and mom let me out of the bathroom quite a few times but I did spend most of my time in that bathroom. Unfortunately, I never got to meet grandma. They kept her alive long enough for mom to get to the hospital and say goodbye and then she was gone. She was only 61 years old. Mom hasn't seen grandma in 2.5 years. Mom is very sad now.

So, to show how much I love mom, I made sure I yelled my little head off again on the trip home. Another 19 hours straight thru. I thought mom was going to strangle me! MOL!

Mom rescheduled my follow-up appt at the vet for yesterday. I can't believe she put me back in that cat carrier again...you think she would have learned! I got the "all-clear" check-up. No more upper respiratory infection and no more pink eye...so how do they reward me??? With a needle for my first set of shots! I weighed in at 1.8 pounds and I'm growing like a weed! I'm still a little love bug at night though...love to snuggle with mom on the bed! That should make up for my vocal out-bursts lately, shouldn't it?

Rest in peace grandma. We miss you!

I'm a little wiggle worm

Some nights I sleep next to mommy and some nights I don't. Night before last, I slept elsewhere all night long...I was showing my independence again. Last night, mom put me on the bed but I decided I wasn't tired yet, so I jumped down. Then I waited...waited til mom just fell asleep...deep asleep. I jumped at the side of the bed and climbed my way up...tip toed around til I got to mom's head, and then wiggled my way under her chin...and scared the crap out of her! MOL!!! Boy, did she jump! Her heart was just going a mile a minute!!!

So, once she realized it was me, she layed her head back down and I crawled under her chin again. She sleeps on her side so there's a nice spot under her chin against her neck that was made just for me! It's just my size too! I stayed there all night! When the alarm went off and mom started moving around, she gave me kisses and rubbed my belly...which tickles by the way! Mom checked my eyes and she remarked how they look so much better already! No crusty stuff today, so the medicine must be working!

So after last night's scare, mom now refers to me as her little wiggle worm! That's a term of endearment, right??? I don't know about the word "worm" but I definitely know how to wiggle...i can wiggle my way into all kinds of small spaces!

I have a Manx Mentor!!!

Jasper officially declared himself as my Manx Mentor today in his diary! I have a mentor! I have a mentor! I'm so excited and I'm doing the happy dance! What do you think he's gonna mentor me with? I can't wait to find out!

Maybe he can mentor me with this thing called the v-e-t...it wasn't a bad trip but I'm tired now! I'm chillin with Snow right now resting up cuz that was one lung testing car ride to and from that place!

Well I weighed in at 1.5 pounds today. My eyes were pretty yucky...the doc listened to my lungs and said I had a very slight wheezing sound which suggested a upper respiratory infection. The doc also said that if I did indeed have kitty pink eye, that it could spread to the other furbutts to include the dogs and also to humans! Not a good thing!!! So, they sent mom home with a liquid twice a day anti-biotic and this gel stuff to put in my eyes 3 or 4 times a day. Oh joy...NOT!!! I have to go back next Monday for a follow-up. If everything is cleared up, then I'll get my shots. Mom asked about getting me fixed...they said not til 12 weeks of age...so I have at least 5 more weeks to go.

So, that's been my adventure of a day. But on a good note, I'm today's Daily Diary Pick featured on the homepage and I'm hanging out on the homepage today with Jasper my manx mentor. I've gotten pmails, rosies, lots of treats and friend requests. I'm one lucky little boy right now!!! Thank you everyone! Thanks for thinking of me!!!!!

What is a V-E-T and why does mommy keep spelling it out?

I'm not sure what it is or why she keeps spelling it out like that but that's where she says we're going this afternoon. Is it a fun place or do I need to be worried? She says we're going to have my eyes looked at. Granted she keeps wiping my eyes and taking warm washcloths to them to get all the crusty stuff off but I'm dealing with it. I'm even to the point where I just lay there in the palm of her hand when she grabs me by the scruff of the neck and flips me over to clean my face. I even purr now when she does it.

The place where mom got me last week was rubbing this goopy stuff on my eyes...said I had kitty conjunctivitis. Not sure what that is but it sure is a mouthful, isn't it? Anyway, mom says it didn't help and it's getting worse, so we're going to this v-e-t so they can look at me. She called on Saturday but they were closed. She also told me that she's gonna ask about when I can get my shots and something about getting fixed...that conversation when right over my little head. Of course she's telling me all this when she had me laying in the palm of her hand...what was a little guy like me to do besides just lay there and listen while she cleaned up my handsome little face?

So, mom has to come home and get me so we can get this v-e-t thing over with. Not sure what to expect but I hope I like it. Mom says I have lots to take care of on Catster too when we get back so I have something to look forward to doing later. I'll tell you all about my trip to this v-e-t later.

DDP...I'm honored!

Woohoo!!! I"m a daily diary pick today!!! Thanks Catster!!! I"m so honored!!!

Before mom left for work today, she checked her catputer thing and she said that I was a daily diary pick today! So, I was so excited at the news, I had to jump around and play and harass the other furbutts. So, my newest 3 pictures in my photo album are of me jumping for joy...and using Sadie as target practice to perfect my skills. So, it didn't matter that it was 3:30 in the morning, I'm full of energy all the time! Mom just got that camera last week and in my featured photo, the camera caught me in action jumping off the cat tree and it wasn't blurry! And you can see in the pics that I have a nub of a tail and mom thinks it's adorable!

So, thank you very much Catster for selecting me as a daily diary pic today! I'm very honored and will make sure I celebrate all day long. Mom better have her camera ready when she comes home from work. That thing absolutely loves me!

I'm winning them over

One by one, I'm winning over the other furbutts in the house. I know I won't be able to get all of them to accept me but that's ok.

My 2 newest acceptees are Flower and Milo...especially Flower. It's a game with us now...I run and she chases me all over the place. If I run to one side of the bed, she chases me but then she'll go and wait for me on the other side of the bed. We ran around for hours last night before mom went to bed. Mom's amazed at how fast my little legs can go! Now you see me, now you don't! I'm quick!

I was actually tired last night and slept on the bed the whole night. Mom moves too much in her sleep though. She'd move away and then I'd have to move too cuz I like laying against her. We must have moved at least 5 times last night. If she keeps this up, I'm going to have to find another place to sleep. I'm sure I can cozy up to Snow or another furbutt and not have to worry about being left alone.

So why is it that the boy furbutts are more accepting of me than the girl furbutts? I think Flower is the only girl that accepts me...the rest growl, hiss, cry and swat at me. I hope that changes cuz I sure am a cutie and am completely loveable!

No fears!

or very few anyway! I definitely came out of my shell yesterday while mom was at work! Mom came home and found me running all over the place. It didn't matter what was in my way, I bowled it over. Mom had to laugh cuz the other furbutts couldn't get out of the way fast enough when I came running. They sat there mesmorized with me and there was always about 4 or 5 kitties sitting around watching me...all the heads turned at the same time in unison. Mom thought it was cute.

I play with everything and anything, it doesn't matter what it is. If I can bat at it or jump on it, it's a game. My favorite are those imaginary bugs that only I can see. I had a field day with those all evening last night. I wore myself out but that didn't keep me from playing throughout the night when mom was trying to sleep! Then I realized how much fun it is to slide off the bed and bounce when I hit the floor. So, I turn around and jump at the side of the bed and pull myself up and then turn right around and slide off the side off the bed again and bounce and roll on the floor. It's sooooo much fun! The furbutts just sit there and watch me. They must be jealous!

Then this morning in my search of new adventures, I found myself on top of the hamster cage. I was totatlly engrossed with that thing. I'd say it was little but that hamster thing is as big as I am. I tried to dig my way through the wire mesh lid so I could play with the hamster but mom didn't think that was such a good idea...so she picked me up and put me on the floor. Geez mom...you're no fun!!!

So, mom left this morning and I was playing with a piece of dry cat food on the bathroom floor. That floor is so smooth and that piece of cat food just flies across the floor when I hit it! I also showed her that I'm not afraid of the water fountain anymore. I love drinking out of that thing and she's sure I'll be playing in the water in no time! Mom has to get the video camera out and catch me in action!

So mom's curious as to what trouble I'm going to find myself in today while she's gone. Should she be concerned?

My first night in my furrever home

Well, the car ride home was a little loud for mom's liking. I wouldn't shut up! I cried and cried and cried as loud as I could. As soon as we got home and mom opened the car door, I shut right up. I didn't make much of a peep the rest of the night. Mom took my carrier into the house and set it down right in the middle of the floor...then all the furrbutts seemed to come out of the woodwork! They were every where! No one made a sound though. Things seemed to be going ok til I started investigating...then the furbutts didn't like it. Mom's heard a lot of hissing, growling and I've already received quit a few swats along the way. Mom's trying to keep the fighting down but mom says I have to learn my place amongst the zoo.

Snow is the only cat that's basically accepted me. He licked my head as soon as mom put me down in front of him. He loves to bathe me. Mom put me on the bed last night when she went to sleep and Snow always sleeps next to mom. He gave me a 15 minute bath and made sure I was good and clean before we went to sleep. Of course after the bath, I wanted to play but Snow didn't want any of that...so he kept pushing me away or kept trying to hold me down til I stopped squirming. So, mom decided to put me in the big open dog kennel in the bedroom...there's food/water and a litter box in there and she went back to bed.

Mom's not sure how I did it but I figured out where she was and figured out how to get on the bed by myself cuz I woke her up in the middle of the night playing with her night shirt. I was trying to get her attention to let her know I was there and not to squish me when she rolled over. I'm not even 2 pounds yet and mom weighs a ton and she'd squash me like a pancake and not even know it. So, she moved me up to the pillow and went back to sleep. When the alarm clock went off, I was laying on mom's head. I'm so cute, aren't I?

So, mom left for work this morning and will be gone for at least 12 hours. She's not sure where I was hiding when she left but she hopes everything will go ok while she's gone. I'm sure I'll do some investigating and probably get beat up a time or two but you know how it goes. You win some, you lose some and what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. I think I'm going to go assert my independence on the other furbutts now...should it matter that I'm only 6 weeks and 4 days old? Nah!!! They'll get over it! MOL!!!
