Arrival Story:
When Moka was lost in November, 2008, two tracker dogs followed his scent to a house two blocks from our old home. The family that lives in the house takes care of a group of feral cats in their backyard, and was incredibly generous in letting us set up a trap and food for Moka. Tanuki and her brothers Giancarlo and Valentino were born to one of their cats. Over four months, we took all three littermates in after they contracted upper respiratory and eye infections. Though we didn't intend to keep them after their health improved, they have become wonderful additions to our cat family. Valentino, Giancarlo's twin, had an eye infection so serious the vet had to suture his eye shut to prevent the cornea from rupturing. Fortunately, it looks like that worked and his eye continues to heal. Valentino is still pretty skittish around people. Their mother, aunt and uncle still live in that backyard, and we hope to get them spayed/neutered through the local trap/neuter/release program. They are all beautiful cats. Their mother is a gorgeous grey and red tortie. You can see her sitting outside in the last photo on the left. Their father is a lovely red cat who lives in a shed nearby on the same alley.

Bio:
Tanuki has unusual markings, and she has long limbs, a long torso and a long tail. If she were human, she would be supermodel material! Buttercup, Louise Brooks, Chirpy, and Pumpkin have all adopted her. They spend time grooming her and playing with her.
