OMG! Thank you Catster!! I really hope that perhaps i'll find my new home with this awesome press!!!
With this new press i'm going to write out Jefferson's full bio:
Jefferson is a 1 year old neutered male DSH who is up to date on vaccines. He was found next to the off-ramp on I-95 in NY (talk about a busy road!!). He is polydactyl cat sporting an extra toe on both front feet (thumb style). His is approximately 9 lbs but he was quite underweight when i started fostering him and I expect him to end up around 10lbs when he's healthy.
He is a VERY playful little cat! He LOVES his catnip mouse, catnip cigar, and his fleece ribbon teaser toy. He is happiest when he finds a sunny spot and naps for a few hours--one of his favorite spots is on the back of the couch where he can sit in the sun and watch all the activity outside on the street. He is happy to be picked up and cuddled and jumps in my lap nightly for his night time cuddle. He is not an overly needy lap cat--though unlike most of my previous cats, he doesn't mind being picked up and placed on a lap for a cuddle (most of my other cats dont particularly like to cuddle on MY terms). He is a very vocal cat when there is something he wants...but if you feed him he quiets down!
He has adjusted to the dogs really nicely. He isn't bothered by the crazy ruckus when the two dogs are play-fighting just a foot away from him. He LOVES my adult cat-savvy dog Shayne and will seek her out to cuddle with at night. He is not as fond of my puppy Rio because ri REALLY wants to play with the cat. When Rio is laying down/sleeping he will get close for a snuggle but when Rio is up and bouncing around, Jefferson is not afraid to give a hiss/growl/smack when Ri gets too intrusive. Even though he's laying down the law with Rio he's not freaking out and running and hiding any time he sees Rio... and while he swats at Rio daily, he always almost always uses a "soft paw" (no claws). Jefferson and Rio have, however, created a new game where jefferson will dash under the couch and will play with rio from the safety of the couch.
Knowing how he handles crazy noise, busy house, and dogs, i think Jefferson would make a GREAT family pet. He would do best with cat savvy dogs (dogs who aren't CONSTANTLY trying to get him to play) but I am not sure how he would do with other cats--as a stray it was clear he got into quite a few scraps with other strays. I think he would be a great cat for a house with respectful kids since nothing REALLY startles him enough into hiding for hours/days, even when i have friends over, he's very friendly to the strangers.
