What a sad day. My dear friend Simba has passed away and is now here at the bridge with us. His family is of course hurting badly. Please go and comfort them. If you don't know what happened, Simba's cancer came back and spread very quickly. He had blood in his lungs and one of his lungs completely stopped working very recently. Finally his little body could not take anymore. I think this is part of the reason we haven't been around much lately. Not because of Simba but because mom is having a hard time losing friends and helping others on other sites at the same time.
We've been dealing with stuff with grampy, he's a complete mean grouch again and back at picking on mom and everyone else too. We don't know how many years he has left so mom is trying to be patient but he's so insulting and mean sometimes. He's been like this to mom her entire life. She's got a lot of unresolved feelings to deal with. And Midnight is having some poopy problems. Vet says nothing obvious is wrong, could be dementia, could be she's mad at grampy because she hasn't wanted to leave him alone, poking him in the lip, doing all kinds of weird things. She must know something we don't. But he's tired of it and doesn't want to be bothered. So maybe she's mad. I don't know. Mom is trying not to be worried but you know my mom!
So we apologize again for missing everyone's important days. Mom has just needed a break she's been REALLY REALLY REALLY busy on another forum helping a ton of sick kitties with IBD and lymphoma. sheesh there's a lot! Very frustrating for us. Seems it's just getting worse and worse with these illnesses. A friend of ours said yesterday that it seems like the more we pet parents express our concerns to pet food companies the more they put junk in the food that doesn't belong there. Like it's a battle of wits or something and they don't care who's the ones getting hurt, THE KITTIES. Makes us so mad.
So anyway that's our story. We miss the old days when we used to have pawties here on Catster and had so much fun. Nobody is around anymore, it seems so blah here. Where did everyone go? We're not leaving or anything, don't worry about that. Just taking a little snooze, MOL. We love you all and Simba's meowmy, please know I've already greeted him and have taken him to see his family here. He's being groomed and getting a great big meal because now he's hungry again. He's resting on a big bed of flowers and will be fine now. Please know we love you and we're sending you huge hugs of comfort from across the pond.
We are thinking of your meowmy, Alex. It gets hard dealing with difficult things all the time. (hugs his furriend)
MomKatt says she knows what you meow, too, about where'd everyone go? Morticia's keeping up BCCP 'cause it's her group & she dearly loves it but she misses "pre-Facebook" days. :( Even her hubby, Hudson's meowmy now hangs out there, so he hardly EVER comes to BCCP. She misses him a lot.
Try to have a good weekend, you guys.
Love & purrs
Feisal your Ruddy Aby angel furriend
Oh pooh! We forgot we had changed our preferences. I'm going to change it back. I don't want our friends to think we are being poopheads, MOL. It's true isn't it Feisal? Where is everyone? Maybe everyone needs a break. Who knows. Life is stressful for everyfur these days.
We remember the good ol' days, Alex!~ Which by no means was that long ago~! Seems like we had pawties, well lots of them back to back. It's ok, we're still here fur you 'n Finn 'n Lacey~! Purring fur you where it comes to Grampy, but there's no reason to be a grouch to someone that is taking care of you and loves you unconditionally~!! We're purring fur Midnight too~!
Peeps do get busy, and sounds like your mom needs to just get a break from it ALL! Mom says sitting at a computer all day long, doesn't matter if you are here or somewhere else just isn't healthy! Back probs, eye probs 'n the such come from it~! Maybe our pals realize they just need to give mom a rest. And it's getting close to Mother's Day, so this weekend we know where they will be~! Enjoy their day with familiy~!
We're so furry sorry to hear 'bout Simba, I know he is running though catnip fields and bouncing off clouds now~! Purrs to his family~!
Thank you for helping IBD kitties in need~! You are the kindness 'n sweetest~!
Love 'n angel hugs,
Baby Boy Blue
Thank you Smokey Joe and furmily! It's true. mom's eyes hurt and it gives her headaches. She tries to get up many more times a day now and do other stuff in between Plus it gets boring after awhile just sitting here. Happy Mother's day to all of your meowmies!!! We love you!
Sending purrs to Simba's family.
So sorry to hear Simba is gone, we know this is such a tough time for his family.
We are still come and check in most every day but it does't seem like there are very many kitties here any more, hardly ever any new diaries....glad to hear from yall, take care.
Thanks Tiny and Jezzy. It is so furry quiet here these days. So sad, we miss our furriends a lot!
Alex I'm so purroud of you and your mommy - doing such a great job helping us and many other furmilies. We know that you are here for us when we are in need. Mommy's been getting kinda worn out herself taking care of me and Dexxy, she keeps going trying to keep us feeling good, but it's all worth it.
Mommy has a father-in-law that is very grumpy and and is ungrateful for everything we do for him - so we kinda know how horrible that feels. Nothing is ever good enough, no matter how hard we try!:(
Poor Simba and furmily! Fly free Simba!
Purrs & Hugs,
Sigmund, Dexter and Meowmy
Hi Siggy, Dexter & mommy! We're so happy we met you. Wish it wasn't cause you guys had so many health problems though but still, we just love you. Isn't it terrible that grumpy old men treat our meowmies that way? Mom is just so depressed lately. The weather is not helping at all!!! It's been cloudy, raining and cold for 2 weeks and every time the sun is supposed to come out, it does for like 5 minutes. Mom needs to get out in her garden.
We are proud of your Mom too, she gives so much of herself...she is a special Mom!
We are so sad that Simba made his journey...we have visited his page and sent a special message to his Mom, she was here for our Mom when we lost QT...and we have special crystals that she made for Tallulah.
Just tell your Mom to hang in there...parents are like children as they get older...Poor Midnight she just wants to help and love....that is sad that your Grumpy Grampy doesn't want her around...
yes it is too quite around here...HELLO OUT THERE WHERE ARE YOU ALL.....you don't come around it is a loss....we will be here too, just have times when Mom can't be here and when it gets too sad it is very hard for her to be here...today is a very sad day.
hugs to your Moms....HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
I agree - we feel so bad when a kitty passes. And there are many kitties that we have not seen around for a long time. I mean I get it we all get busy, and sometimes you do need a break, but it kinda makes you feel forgotten in a way. Mom just does not have the energy or time for FB, so we just hang out here. Please know that we love y'all. purrs, The Tigman
Hi Xena and Tiggy! So glad to see our furriends, we miss you all so much. I think sometimes we don't realize how much we miss our furiends until we do a diary and see everyone. Now we just want to open our paws and give you all whisker kisses! mmmmmwwwaaaaahh
So sorry that Simba has journeyed here to the bridge, but he has lots of new angel pals that are going to keep him company until he sees his family again one day.
We are so sad to hear Simba crossed to the bridge! He hung in there for a long time though! He had some tough times but he got through it all with his head held high! We are definitely gonna miss him, he was a very good friend of ours and its sad to see him go.
We're also sorry to hear that your family is having a tough time with your Grampy. We definitely know things can be hard. Sometimes its hard to stick by their side, but at the same time we know we have to!
Your Mom is fury sweet to be helping all those kitties out! She been spending so mush time with all those kitties she needs something to brighten up her day! We've noticed too that catster really isn't as busy and fun as it used to be. We are one family that did take a break for a long while. But we realized how much we missed it here and all our furiends too (including you guys!) and now we are back!
We are having pawrty on this coming Wednesday. It is my first birthday! Everyone is invited, it is gonna be tons of fun! Feel free to come, we'd love to see you there!
Hi Calvin, Simba's lost a lot of kitties in his furmily so he's definitely not alone here at the bridge that's for sure. Blade that sounds pawsome. I think we are gonna really try to be there or at least stop by for a little while. We miss having fun with our friends here. We miss you guys too sweetie. Ooooh happy birfday! First one is really fun too. You're growing up so fast!!!
Alex, we'd love it if you could come! Try stop by for a bit, its gonna be tons of fun!
We'll have to write ourselves a note cause my mommy's memory has gone bye bye. MOL. send us a reminder too if you can on that day. what time?
We'll do our best to send you guys a reminder the day before!
And about the time... Umm... Well we were thinking it would be an all day thing since its hard to set a time with everyone in different time zones! But we live on the west coast and we'll likely be at the party starting at noon!
A party.....a party....Yeah, I love parties.....Celebration time is close by. We even got a sunny day or two....Happy Mommy's day to all of you!...
Give your mom a kiss and some loving....I love to cuddle with my mom.
Simba's mom...will be thinking of how Simba's is doing but all of our loved ones who have passed are taking care.....It is so sad when they pass on to the Bridge..but they are no longer in pain. He was a strong cat and found his home so that he knew love....
As for grampy, some people as they get older, get grouchy. My dad didn't always know what he was doing. Please watch out for Midnight.
It might be frustrating for grampy to feel this way and he doesn't know what to do.
You are doing good work but it must be difficult to work every day with
cats who are hurting. Give yourself a day off every so often. Enjoy day...
You are the best mom to your sweet ones. I like it here better than Facebook. It is time to celebrate Mom's Day......and the sunny weather that we are finally having....
Alex, you are a one-kitty cheerleading squad on Catster, always there to offer kindness to a sad or ailing kitty or their human. You and your Mom certainly deserve to take a little break. But don't stay away too long -- we would worry.
My Mom's work schedule doesn't let us join in many parties or monitor many forums. But we do like to keep up with our many Catster friends, and lately we haven't heard anything from a lot of them. Do wish their humans would let them log in occasionally and update us on their lives in their diaries. Just recently I had a chance to check in on a U.K. buddy who, as it turns out, went to the Bridge very soon after.
But Mom doesn't do Facebook. I guess a lot of our friends are keeping in touch there.
Hi Alexander!!! My mom has been going out and enjoying this GORGEOUS weather. Gonna be cloudy and rain AGAIN this week. Sheesh!!! It's always one extreme to the other. The only good thing about the rain is mom doesn't have to hear them playing basketball next door all the time.
Hi Jasper!!! Wow! We haven't talked to you in ages. Who's the the kitty that went to the bridge from the UK? Are you talking about the one I mentioned, Simba? Oh we'll always be here for our friends on Catster. You all have a HUGE place in our hearts, you are like family to us. We do miss so many that are not here anymore. Nice to see you here though!
That's a relief, Alex. We'd hate to not be in touch with you. No, I wasn't talking about Simba, although I'm very sad that he passed. I was talking about Bear (not my brother Bear, but my friend Bear). But I got confused. He was from Florida, not the U.K. Oh, dear, it's terrible to get old and forgetful.
We have enjoyed the weather, too. For the first time this season, the doors to the deck were open and we got to sniff fresh air through the screens while lying in sun puddles. And Mom got a new, lower cat tree so I can rest on the top tier and look out the dining room windows. I can't jump up there anymore, because of my arthritis.
And Dad made Mom some strawberry cocktails for Mother's Day. She said they were very good, and they must have been, because Dad had two and now he's sound asleep on the sofa.
Oh yes! We saw that too about Bear and we do know which one you're talking about. Very sad. I'm so happy you got a new cat tree you can now rest on. oooh those cocktails sound yummy! MOL, your daddy is funny. Asleep after strawberry cocktails. I wonder what was in that thing?
