I took a sweet Catster angel home today

I had a busy day today and I'd like to share it with everyone. Today, quite unexpectedly, I took Teddy McLovin home to the bridge with me. Teddy and BK are well loved little guys here on Catster as they and their momma help kitties with all the need to learn about raw food and how it helped them so much.

This week for whatever reason, Teddy stopped eating and started to go downhill very quickly. We all thought he had an infection of some kind and never dreamed it would be so serious. By Friday, the vet's conclusion was that it was most likely FIP from having such a weakened immune system.

Today Teddy was in horrible shape and his momma couldn't let him suffer any longer. She went with him and Teddy passed away in her arms. I was there with him, holding his paw, waiting for him to close his eyes there and open them back up again with me. He took one last look at his momma, shed a tear and waved to her. I took him to my part of the field and he's resting comfortably. I've told him that when he feels up to it, he can visit his momma anytime he likes. It made him smile a big bright smile as he was very scared he'd never see her again. I explained the whole dynamics to him and he understands now that once he's rested, he'll be as good as new and will be able to fly wherever he wants. He thought that was pretty neat and can't wait to try it.

Teddy is a very special little boy who's had a hard life before he found his mom. She was his angel here on earth and now he's going to be her's. Please join me in wrapping our paws around Teddy's momma and giving her the support she so desperately needs right now. I know all of you Catster pawents are so good at that! Such a loving family.

I must run now, unfortunately I have others I'm going to need to pay a visit to soon. But for now, I'd like to reassure you that Teddy is doing splendidly here and is even getting visits from some of the other Catster members who've recently gone to the bridge.

Remember, the veil between our worlds is very thin and we are souls with bodies, not bodies with souls. We will all be together again.

Alex, what a lovely tribute to your furriend. Thank you for watching over all us kitties here on earth. I am purring and purraying for Teddy's Mommie and fur family during this difficult time.

Thank you Kaci. My momma is too, she can't stop crying. She's such a big emotional marshmallow! LOL. She feels so close to the wonderful friends she's made here, it's very hard to watch others feel such loss. But you know that because you're such a good friend of my momma's. You both have huge hearts and love us furbabies so much!

It happened so darned fast Tasha. I don't think Teddy's momma wanted to say anything until she knew for sure what exactly was going on. It's still hard to believe.

I was lucky enough to be saved by this very special mommy too! Then adopted by my daddy for two wonderful years until it was my time to pass. It would never have been possible with you, mommy. I will be welcoming Teddy with open paws on The Bridge. He is grateful for the quality of life that you gave him, and for the promises you kept to him. It hurts like hell, we all know that, but we will be celebrating our lives on Earth here in heaven free of discomfort and ailments. We love you so much forever and thank you for the chances you gave us! Mommy, you should hold your head high and be proud and happy through the tears. You are the greatest!

What a beautiful tribute to a very special kitty. Mommy's eyes are leaking too! Happy to hear that you are guiding Teddy on his new journey! We will keep his family in our thoughts and prayers that beautiful memories will comfort them in times of sadness.

We were so sad to hear about Teddy getting sick so quickly and crossing to the Bridge. What a blessed little kitty being he was to have the mommy he had. That is a lovely tribute from Alex and Bill. We are sending comforting purrs to his family...

Thank you Gumpy, Nadi and Jezzy! We're so very sad too. It's so unexpected and though we are always saddened by the loss of a kitty, sometimes there's one that just touches you deeply. I look at Teddy as an underdog (kitty) who made it through so much. But now I hope to have him in a huge pair of wings and stronger than ever, before you know it! No more sickies for Teddy, he's gonna be good as new!

You got it Teddy! That's what we're here for. To help each other in times of need and to celebrate lots of other times. Your momma is one of my momma's nicest friends and we feel so bad for her pain. We promise to take very good care of her Teddy. In the meantime, you get some rest because pretty soon you're going to be a member of Team IBD Angels!
