I thought I would let you all know we finally heard from our elderly friend Barb this morning. The one that lives in Tom's River, New Jersey. She didn't have power for 8 days but she and her kitties are all okay!!!! Her son actually had over 7 feet of water in his house and will have to gut his entire house. So as it turned out, it was safer for her to stay where she is. PHEW!!! Mommy is so relieved it's not funny. We were really worried about her. She's ex-military and has been rescuing kitties since way back when she was over-seas. Thank you all so much for your purrs for our good friend and thank you especially to Skylar and his mommy for showing us how to search places like the Red Cross Registry and online white pages. That's such great information and now we know how to do that. Hopefully we won't have to ever look for friends like that again but it all turned out okay. Thank you everyone!!! Love you all so furry much!
Luv, a relieved Lacey and mommy
Purrs of thanks to the Lord for keeping her safe.
Furry furry glad your furriend is safe. We know how worrisome it is to not be able to reach furiends and family in harm's way. One of meowmie's sisters lives in area flooded by Sandy Superstorm and people were canoeing in the streets and are still waiting for the power to come back.
We are so happy to hear that she and her son and the kitties are safe! We were sending her lots and lots of purrs. I'm so glad you let us know. We'll keep the purrs coming for a strong recovery to all those affected by the storms. We only had that little bit of damage, but Iwe know how it can be dealing with insurance and contractors and stuff like that.
Thanks everyone, I knew you'd all be happy to hear this news. It's nice to give good news for a change. yes, we still need to purr for all the poor people and pets that have been affected. It's so bad down there and now they have 8 inches of snow on top of everything else.
Bibi, did your Meowmie' sister have damage too? It is so cold and dark so early to be without power...we'll send her our purrs too.
Phew! Is it ok to do some HOORAYS and HAPPY RIVER DANCES? for this occasion now? I'm sad for those who were hit, but everyone who survived is a HOORAYS and HAPPY RIVER DANCES scenario!
Very happy to hear that she's okay. Continuing our purrs for all those affected by Sandy.
It's very okay River, in fact, let's all do some happy river dances!!! Thanks Rose!
That's good news but sad the house needs gutting.
Glad your friend is ok!
I am glad that they are safe. The house on the other hand sounds dreadful. I can't imagine starting over again on my home. It isn't an easy task since there are a lot of people who needs their homes repaired or even replaced.
I feel badly for those who lost everything that they had and even loved ones.....
Concats on being a DDP, today,Lacey!
Have a nice day!
Pipo & Minko
Alexander it's her son's house that needs to be gutted, her house is okay thank goodness but you're right. Either way it's horrible. I'm just glad they are all safe. Thanks WeeBees!!!!
THe first floor, garage and basement of meomwie's sister's house are totalled but they are staying with relatives who have a generator, so life is much better. Thanks for asking, Lacey. And our purrs to all who are still without.
Purrs to them Bibi! Life without power, especially when it's cold out, is awful.
Oh Lacey, your mom have been so relieved to finally hear from her friend! I'm so happy your mom's friend and her kitties are OK!
Thanks Kaci, we knew you'd want to know about this too. Mom was VERY relieved!!
Sooo happy that she and her kitties be okay!!! We heard from cousin Ashes mommy and they got their power back Saturday (12 days!). Everybody there be okay, too.
12 days! Yikes!! That's great that they are okay though Linus, so many peoples and pets that aren't okay. It's sad. Mommy donated FIVE big garbage bags of clothes and winter coats today to their relief fund.
