A good day!

Today started off sad. We got an email from Maggie's mommy saying that she was so much worse off than ever, she had fluid in her belly and lungs. So she was going to say goodbye to her because they were convinced after all of this it was FIP. Mom was crying, very upset. Then mom couldn't take it so she went outside and worked in her garden. Transplanted some stuff and got in tune with nature.

Then the tides changed. Maggie's momma emailed back and said that the fluid in her belly was NOT consistent with FIP at all so they were going to run some more tests because there's something else going on. Mom did some research and found out it may be something called liver ascites or hypoalbuminemia. She's got all the symptoms listed and the vet agreed this could be it, yay for mom! Anyways, so now Maggie is still alive and they are draining the fluid and sending it out for cultures so keep purring because there may be a miracle at work here.

Then just now mommy came running in the house so excited. She was outside watering her flowers and honest to god a hummingbird came over, drank some nectar from the flower, played in the shower wand that mom was using to water and then...ready for this...landed on my mom's shoulder! I'm not kidding! Mom said she thought she would pass out from excitement. That hummingbird came right over to her and was not one bit scared.

Mom said she hopes this is a sign! How many people can say a hummingbird landed on them and stayed there for a few seconds? Not many I'll bet. OH! And somebody new that emailed my mom this week is going to put her kitty on our website and she bought a bunch of stuff at onlynaturalpets.com by going through mom's website so mommy gets a commission for that! Yay her first one!

So today turned out to be a good day after all. Don't ya love it when that happens?

Many purrs for Maggie and purrs for her meowmy for finding the info, what a save. It must be a good sign with the hummingbird. That sounds like a very special moment. We have never seen one of those, but they sure sound cute and tasty.

I'm sorry Blizz, I wish I could help but we don't know anyone that will take another kitten. I promise to let you know though if we have any prospective pawents. Why don't you put them on Petfinder?

MOL Sam&hearts. I didn't think of that, yum! They're super fast though, don't know if I could catch it.

Wow, I want to have a hummingbird sitting on my shoulder. You Mom must be very good with animals. Well, of course she is, silly me.

Yay Maggie! We'll keep purring and praying.

Thank you Tink, keep on purring for Maggie. She's not out of the woods. Tonight though she ate two full plates of chicken on her own!!! Anytime a kitty eats, that's a great sign.

Mietzi my mommy is like mother nature around here, it's crazy! Animals trust her in a big way. When she was younger, she'd go to the fairs here in NH. She would go into the barns with the big oxen, take her long fingernails and gently run them up and down the oxen's face around it's eyes. PLOP! Fell over fast asleep. MOL. They said mommy was an oxen whisperer. MOL.

That is amazing about the ox. Our State Fair just started today. Mom is not planning on touching any cattle. Maybe a bunny but not an ox.

Purring for Maggie to keep hanging in there and to get better.

Cute stories about the Humnmingbird and the oxen...

Panda and Blizzard...Purring fur those babies, too.
We don't 'do' FB so we can't help there...and meowmy is allergic to kitties that are not meezers...how weird is that, but she has tried being around others and it always ends up in trouble fur her...

Tabbies I am starting to think you need therapy, MOL! Seriously! You have a huge bird phobia. Natalie I didn't even think of that! I'll bet it was Alex. If it was, she looked so beautiful (as she always does in any form). Momma Ivey Maggie is in great hands. They live in Texas and she's at the Texas A&M University vet hospital. That's where the groundbreaking work was done for B12 injections for cats. And her mom will do ANYTHING to help her. Her vet and the vet tech really love Maggie also, thank goodness. But yes, they are really good doctors. Kelli was resigned to saying goodbye and it was the vet who said, "no, not yet! we still have a shot". Nice contrast to some other vets we've seen who tell the parents to automatically put them to sleep. Which is what that horrible vet did to poor CeeCee right Natalie? Lucky for her she has your parents to help her.

Yeah for Maggie....Wow...what did the hummingbird know!....and she landed on your "mom"'s shoulder....amazing. By the way, you go to Costa Rica, you will see flocks of hummingbirds. They are so sweet. My mistress had one fly almost next to her ear. She stood very still. They are so delicate. We are hoping for the best for Maggie......
