Oh my goodness, we need everyone's help to figure out what's wrong with my mommy. Yesterday afternoon she went out and didn't come back for a furry long time. When she finally did come back late at night she was acting really strange! She said she's been turned into a toadie and started talking about weird stuff.
While getting our food and changing into her pj's she was dancing around and we thought she would "fall down" but she had her "eyes open wide" so she was okay. Then as we were eating, she went into the other room to shut the blinds and started "crowing"! Is she a toad or a bird? What the heck momma! "All I want" is to know what's going on here, I have nothing but "good intentions" about it but this seems like a "crazy life" if you ask me.
Then she picked me up and said, Lacey mommy needs to have some fun and even though I love you furry much "I will not take these things for granted" because when I stay home here and take care of everyone in the house "something's always wrong". If you're lonely when I'm gone I can ask Alex to visit and "fly from heaven" to see you.
Well okay momma but "whatever I fear" is that you're going a little bit cuckoo and maybe you taking that "walk on the ocean" didn't help anything. It sent your mind "way away" and you need to "come back down" to earth.
Oh I'm furry worried about mommy, she was doing lot of weird moves and stuff and yes, it was fun and funny to watch but is she going to start eating bugs now? That's me and Finney's job! I don't understand this, she doesn't have any warts that I can see and she hasn't turned green since the last time she got a stomach flu.
Can any of you furs help us figure out what's going on here? I hope she's better by tomorrow, it's our 1 year catsterversary! Can you beweive it? One whole year! I hope we don't have to bring momma to the loony bin, but she insists that she's fine. I don't think so. Please help us figure out this dilemma!
"P.S." there are a lot of clues here so someone should be able to help us figure this whole thing out.
I sent you a pmail about this - my mommy gets like this too, so I can sympathize! Luv, Tink
Sounds like mommy had too much of the human liquid nip!!!
Hmmm - this is tricky! I'll have to think on it!
MOL Tigger! Nope, momma SAYS she only had water and sprite, that's it.
hmmm.... is mummy in love?? lol!! she was singing because she was so happy!!
NOPE! She was happy but that wasn't the reason. Look at the clues in my diary entry.
You got a wart from a Toad???
OMC you're not even trying! MOL!
Hmmmm.... This might require a quick nap so I can restore my brain to full power to work on what's happened to your momma.
Aren't our pawrents weird sometimes??
I think I've got an idea but I need to do some deep sleeping... I mean THINKING about it first before I say anything!
MOL! You do that THINKING Sally Maria! MOL. Yup, they are REALLY weird!
She's singing Toad the Wet Sprocket songs! Did she go see them play? Mom's favorite is "All I Want"
AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! FINALLY! Although I will confess that Tink got it IMMEDIATELY and pawmailed me the answer because she didn't want to spoil it right off the bat.
YES! Mom went out last night to a beautiful theater in the next town and saw them in an intimate setting. She said they were PAWSOME PAWSOM PAWSOME! The theater was top notch and had the best seating and acoustics! Plus she got to meet them afterwards. She was talking with the lead singer and he told her his dad is a parapsychologist, so he and mom could have talked about spooky stuff all night. Her friends were bugging her to leave and lots of other people wanted to see them too so she had to go. But she had so much fun! She said they were furtastic!
Phew! This was a funny one because Tink got it immediately and then no one got it and then you got it right away. We kind of figured you would though since you guys like a lot of the same music. We thought Gumpy would have been on here by now guessing it too but he'll find out now when he gets here. MOL.
They opened the show with Something's Always Wrong and ended it with Fall Down. The only one they didn't play that mom really loves is Fly From Heaven. She was disappointed about that. But guess what!? They played a couple of new songs and they are coming out with a new album later this year. The first time in 13 years! Mom and her friends were the first to ever hear those songs too and she said they were really good.
So today all we heard on the cd player at our house was Toad music. MOL! I liked it though! I ran around the kitchen with mom and she even picked me up and danced with me for about 10 minutes. I NEVER let her do that and I just let her.
Holy album, Batman!
Always let your Mommy dance with you, it's fun and it's your "one on one" time with her. (there's a hint for the next playlist. Of course the meaning is different in your case)
Oh and Mom is so glad your Mom had a great time. And she had a great night "In the summertime"
"Toad and the Wet Sprocket"!!??
Hmmmm....Mom had to look them up, but now she remembers the songs. Love "Walk on the Ocean". I think she always knew and liked their songs, but she didn't remember the name of the band. Sounds like your momma had a great night at the concert ~ yay!
We're still fixated on Finney's list of poop songs, and I can't believe Mom liked Shaun Cassidy and his Doo Run Run song!!
MOL! Finney's poop song list has taken on a life of it's own. We thought of one last night too but the computer was off already and mom was tired. But she forgot it this morning. Oh well!
Glad your momma had a good time. And that's so nice of you to dance with her.
glad yur mom wented ta a concert N hurd sum mewsic...we be glad ta hear her dinna get ahold of sum bad burd N her wuz hazin a ree act shun....burd will due that ya noe.....make ya spazzy or may bee even hurl....eeeegga.....peace out N rock on
Ok I feel stupid, I had to check youtube for them too, now I know who they are. lol! Glad you had a night out of fun, keep rocking!! m/
MOL, that's okay. We figured because everyone was talking about 80s and 90s songs the other day you'd probably get it. But we actually GOT YA! Whoo hooo!!!
I guess because im more into the hard rock of the eighties, not so much of the "flock of eagles" stuff of the eighties, :p lol!
oh no no! The Toads are not Flock of seagulls. We like flock of seagulls but not like this. My mom will send you a youtube link for their songs.
Tina, if you check out youtube's "All I Want" video, I'm sure you'll recognize the song. We're always surprised that they come listed as "Alternative", when we ethink of them as classic. In the same way as 10,000 Maniacs...
Yup I checked it out, I have heard them before, I know a few of their songs :)
Okay, I was a teenager during these days and alternative music came from the indie punk rock bands that where played on college channels but not main stream like Susie and Banshees, Sex Pistols, 10,000 Maniacs, and The Cure. But when Nirvana, Pearl Jam and STP came flying in on the scene creating Grunge, just about everything else that had a grunge appearance and attitude but a softer side than grunge became "Alternative" at the time. Remember Oasis, I love, love, love their song "Champagne Supernova" and don't forget the bands Candlebox, Beck and our beloved No Doubt. Do I needed to do a playlist, please say yes, it'll take me back to my high school and college days. And yes, I had long, straight, unbrushed hair, wore no makeup, went to Raves and Lollapaloozas, wore hiking boots and the classic flannel shirt tied around my waist. I was going to art school during that time and was very into that scene.
I between Finney's pawty right now I'm trying hard to put some of their songs on my Mixpod. Stupid youtube doesn't have that many of them that actually work for some dumb reason!
Yeah, Mixpod can be a pain! I'll be right over.
Catster is having some major fleas right now. I got the code, saved it and put it on my mixpod but it comes up empty. I know it's not me because someone just tried to comment in Finney's diary and got something that said error #4! Stupid fleas! Oh well, I'll have to do it later.
