No not Pigeon from Catster, MOL. This morning grammy told mom to go to the window and see what was going on in the backyard. So mommy ran over to the window and let out a big GRROOOOOOSSSSSS!!! We had to go and see what she was looking at of course. A big red tailed hawk was just sitting there on the ground munching on a juicy pigeon he just caught here in our yard. Yowza that bird was big! I think I like to stay inside now, me no want to go out there. We're in the city for crying out loud but hawks and Peregrine Falcons are all over the place now. Grammy thought it was an eagle, soooo funny! Mom was like "eagles don't come into a residential backyard in the city". We do have eagles here but they stay over by the river and the damns. Anyway, there are feathers allll over the yard now and they are pigeon feathers! That's what those hogs get for pickin' at the bird seed on the ground all day. lazy bones! I have to say that looked pawsome though watching that thing just swoop down and grab it! Mom thinks I'm mean and gross but I'm a cat! HELLLOOOOOOO! Did she not know this? She's got some major surprises coming if she didn't, MOL.
Oh I just came over and poked mommy in the shoulder while she's typing and she called me her puffy orange creamsicle. MOL, yet another nick name but I love this one. she's been cutting a lot of knots off me lately! Leave some hair will ya? This is what the ladies like about me Ma! I had a big knot right under my chin. Stupid hair under there gets all oily when I eat. I try to clean it with my Gene Simmons tongue, MOL. Anyway, her friend came over and held me while mommy cut my nails and cut that chin knot off. Now I still have more on my bum. Every time she things she's got them all, nope. Not much else happening except last week at this time it was almost 90 and it's now barely 35 and very cold! Yesterday the sun was out while it was snowing. I think Mother Nature needs to lay off the organic wine.
So that's about it! Mom's on a good eating kick now and a lot of mom's have been sending her really good recipes! OH! Yesterday she tried this food called Quinoa (not to be confused with Samoa). She said it's just bird seed!!! Why would my mom be eating bird seed? If she turns into a pigeon, then look what happens to you! She better stop eating that stuff. I don't want a pigeon for a mom. I might want to chomp on her. MOL.
You've got some great reality TV in your backyard, Finney!
P.S. We hate quinoa, too.
We really do! Sometimes not so much fun reality tv with those neighbors but what can you do. Be fun if the hawk would swoop on them and chase them into their house all the time. Too bad mom can't train it! MOL.
Mom said she had to mix that stuff with tomato sauce and she said it smelled like dirty socks when she was cooking it, MOL. doesn't sound good to me.
We have some of those big hawks around here too! Hope your momma doesn't turn into a pigeon.
dood...ewe noe...this hole dia ree uses such FOWL language that we canna bee leeve yur mom act shoe a lee let ewe use de B werd that many times.....
Sorry, I knew you'd be flockin' mad! MOL MOL MOL MOL
MOL this is grossss!!! that happened in front of our house too, us kitties were making lots of noise and Mom came running to see what was going on and there in the yard a hawk got a black bird in our yard...we see hawks all the time and Mom says you are not going out there...so Finney do stay inside they might go after you fuzzy tail...
Your Mom likes bird seed...yuk!!!!
Zeke you need new glasses. Mom was saying that bird seed food was yuckery! She didn't like it. I don't want my fuzzy tail getting snatched up either. That hawk has a sharp beak! WOW!
MOL!!! Love those Tabbies!!!. The Kits love BURD watching in the window!! A burd flew close, Kringle fell off the counter!!! MOL!!! Cat, you NUTZ!!!
You're gonna give him a complex Blizz. MOL.
A couple years ago Mom saw a Cooper's Hawk on the fence, he waited patiently & bam! got sparrow. Mom watched him tear it up & eat it. It was gross & yet cool in a weird way (yeah mom is strange) Mom says she will look for some more recipes to send ya this weekend - been very hectic. ps Finney you are handsome even with some missing furs.
Hi Finney, don't get your panties in a bunch. Oops, too late. They are in a bunch, MOL.
MeWow, those are some tempurrture swings you're having. We just went from 82 to 62 but yours is far worse.
Thank you Maizy my sweetpea! Mom's getting a load of great recipes from everyone. LOVES it! So much better than trying to go through recipes on the web. She has never been able to find what she's looking for. So thanks everyone! Tell her to take her time Maizy, no rush.
For your information Mietzi I go commando! Knots or no knots. MOL. yeah, it's crazy. That's New England for ya. But still, we had 6 straight days of either 75 or 85 degrees. Then WHAM. 25 degrees the next day. criminy!
go commando, MOL MOL *rolling on floor laughing and wiping tears away*
Finn, one quit bragging about your tongue.
Second, we didn't need to know about your commando ways.
And third, that stuff is like ultra healthy for Mom's. Great heart health form of fiber. Tell her not to forget to snack on nuts. Mom eats one 100 calorie pack of Almonds every day. Why? Cause she loves them.
Now, the hawk thing. It is gross but I guarantee Gris and I would have been right there with you bud. All we see here in town are chicken hawks. Go out to the country and you can see all kinds of things. One time, a Vulture was hanging out at grandma and Grandpas place. Sat in a tree on the edge of the yard for at least an hour. Mom said he was so ugly.
Here's my answer to both those top things: If you got it, flaunt it. MOL
Gross, vultures are gaaaarrroooosss! They eat dead stuff.
We see crows and vultures here, too...eating the road kill, fresh or not so fresh...furry grossious indeed!
And we get various Hawks, too...hunting!
NO small critters are safe outdoors here.
We even had some bears in the nearby town, go figure, came to town from the country hills, must have been hungry!
And cougar sightings are often rumored, too...well at least it is a kitty...kind of, MOL!
Sorry that you have to endure those undignified grooming sessions.
MOL you are funny bird seed diet would sure be a good way for my mom to lose some weight. :)
For sure you need to always stay inside due that sounds like one very bad (insert bad word) hawk!
Hey Pipo! You have a lot of wildlife where you are. Littleboy mom is trying to lose weight but mainly to be healthier. She says bird seed food is not worth it. MOL
Just so you all know, it's 2:30 am and me and Lacey have the crazy zoomies all of a sudden!!! We're making a lot of noise and mom keeps telling us to stop moving furniture, grammy & grampy are trying to sleep downstairs.
My mom is familiar with that seed stuff. It is well known at her WW.
It is healthy food but there is other food that would be better. She finds if she weighs in once a week, it helps. She is on maintenance but is so close to her goal weight no extra special treats this week.
Ugh.....birds eating birds isn't a pleasant sight. My mom saw a crow take a sparrow and she tried to throw things at him. She hates crows. They are loud and killers. She once had parakeets so she has a softness there which I don't understand. By the way, the parakeets died of old age. She had them when she had Ben but that is another story.
Why are you moving furniture so early in the morning?
Hi Alexander, I don't know. We just felt like moving furniture around. We do cuckoo things us kitties. I'm sure you do you're share, MOL. Well mom says no more gross Quinoa. She likes couscous though! She's had it before so that's one she'll get.
MOL, what a great diary! That sounds super cool about the pigeons - it must have been so awesome to see right in front of you!!!! Are the ladies still coming around now that your knots are disappearing?
Hi Sparky, yeah it was pawsome but my mom wanted to puke looking at it actually. MOL. Don't know what her problem is.
Yes in fact they're coming around even more now! Whoo hoo! MOL
