Everyfur here knows how much it hurts not to be able to poop. Well yesterday I had me a backed up pipe like you wouldn't believe! It was bad and I got in the box and strained and CRIED. Even after I got out of the box I cried and I had cramps! Ooohhh that hurt. Mom was getting nervous because she did NOT want to take me to the ER. That ER here stinks, it's no good! And the last time she went there was the night she was racing Alex there and she died in the car. Mom has awful memories of her being stuck in traffic on the highway while Alex was passing away. By the time she got there, she ran in screaming and crying with Alex's body in her carrier, she had already gone. So she really doesn't want to go back there ever if she can help it.
Good thing that my mommy has lots of tricks up her sleeve! First thing she did was get some of her 100% distilled Aloe Vera juice and mix a little bit with some water, took a medicine syringe and squirted it in my mouf (which I was not happy about and spit some of it out). Within 10 minutes my cramps stopped and I was feeling better. Still didn't poop but felt much better. Thank you Hazel Lucy for teaching us about Aloe Vera! For those of you that don't know this trick it has to be this stuff right here: Aloe vera. It can be a different brand but it has to be 100% distilled and pure. Thank you HL for telling mom about that, it really helped calm my tummy!
Well, I felt bad after that and clung to mom like glue all night. Me and Lacey slept on her bed and cuddled with her all night. Today I was kinda the same but I still hadn't pooped and she was getting worried. She had given me some pumpkin, some kristalose and still nothing! It's my floofy hair darn it! She brushes me everyday and furminates me and everything but I still have too much floof that ends up in my tummy. So she's gonna buy some sardine oil. Hope I like it. But finally this afternoon she gave me some more aloe vera and said the heck with this, I'm through fooling around. Then she gave me some Miralax. She doesn't like to use that too often because it contains polyethylene glycol which is not good for the kidneys, even in humans. So we don't use it if we don't have to. But this was a poop emergency!
FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY about an hour ago I got in the box and dropped 'em like bombs! No straining, no crying, they just slid out the shoot and I did a great big poopy! I was so happy darn it, that felt great. And mom was really happy too. She's pretty good at figuring things out without panicking. Good thing too! If anyone would like to learn about how to use aloe vera, you can to to my momma's website www.ibdkitties.net and click on the tips and tricks page. Go to the natural remedies section and scroll down until you see it, it's easy to find.
Thank you again Hazel Lucy for that valuable tip! We love you! And me, Lacey and momma are all very happy campers right now, even if the house does smell like poop! MOL! She scooped it, but my pleasant aroma still lingers.

I think you groom yourself extra muches because of the yummy butterscotch flavor of your fur!
Also, of course, you gotta lick your wounds when Lacey pulls her kangaroo-kickboxing moves on you!
When you're doing mutual-grooming, make HER do all the work!
Sardines & Aloe Vera sounds like a new cat food flavor!!! One of mine is Salmon & Garden Greens...MOL! Luv, Tink
MOL! Milo, my big poopy doop! Too funny. Tink you are funny! I never thought of that, sardines & aloe vera, hmmmm not bad. You know it doesn't even taste anything, tastes like water. Mom tried it, it's not for cats in particular.
So glad you could poop! It's awful not being able to go.
Hi Hazel! Yes, you of all kitties would know. I kept thinking of how it must have been for you and how painful it is. It hurt so bad, I was really crying too. Mom didn't like that. She would have taken me to the ER if nothing helped but thank goodness for the aloe!
You go Finney! Glad you finally pooped and are feeling better!

Well you guys know by now too that my mom ALWAYS checks to see if something is toxic first, no matter who recommends it. So yes, HL told us about it but we checked with a friend of ours who is a holistic vet first and she uses it. You guys can find out how to use it by going to our Tips & Tricks page on our site.
Yeah......You did what you needed to do and it worked!!!!. Wonderful to hear that it had a good ending even though it is a stinky one.....Finney, we hope that you are feeling better now....There is nothing as bad as having one stuck and not come down.....Happier days for you......I hear a diary pick coming your way....you handsome one....
