April 21st 2007

Birthday:
September 15th 2006

Coloration:
Tabby and White

Likes:
snuggling, exploring, people-watching, head butts, "helping" me around the house, making friends with other animals, watching "Planet's Funniest Animals", knocking stuff over, observing the outdoors from his favorite perch, and catnip!

Pet-Peeves:
not getting his own way, loud noises, being picked up (unless he initiates it), people stealing his favorite chair (which used to be my chair, by the way :D ), and me leaving (he stands at the door and yells after I am gone)

Favorite Toy:
his stuffed mouse, which he cuddles with and carries around the house--much like a child does with his favorite toy

Favorite Nap Spot:
on me, on his chair, or on his throne of special pillows on the bed

Favorite Food:
Purina Naturals

Skills:
Oh, yes! He open doors, answers phones (and meows at the person on the other end!), plays hide-and-seek and catch, and can carry on entire (and logical) conversations! He will also jump from the ground right into my arms while I am standing up.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
When my beloved 14-year-old cat died, I was of course very upset. But I have always felt that giving animals a home is important, and I have always done this by going to the local shelter or rescuing street cats. Going to a shelter is hard, because I hate leaving any animal behind. Since I am a committed Christian, I decided to pray before going this time. I asked God to show me the right cat, because He knows how difficult it is for me to choose. The day I walked into the local Humane Society, I immediately heard loud and persistent meowing. I just had to go see who was making his opinion so known! When I walked up to Tigger's cage, he flopped over, nuzzled my hand, and meowed in response to everything I said. That was it; I was in love. I took him home and we've grown very close. This experience proved to me that God really is concerned about every little thing, so never be afraid to ask!

Bio:
Tigger has to be the smartest cat in the world! It's frightening how intelligent he is. He never forgets where any of his treats or toys are hidden, no matter how hard I try. He knows when we are upset and is quick to respond. He is quite active, sociable, funny and charming. He is also very, very stubborn--but I can't get mad at him; he's simply too cute! Tigger rules the house with a velvet paw. There is no cat more loving than he, and no cat that is more loved, either!

On Easter and Gotcha Days

Hello everyone! Things have been purr-fectly crazy lately, and I have not had time to write. The good news about this is that I have many more notes for my observations on strange human behavior :)
Today is my gotcha day, which makes me very thankful to places like the Michigan Humane Society. I lived there for a short 2 weeks before Mommy found me and brought me home. There are many animals in need of a good and loving home, and places like the MHS help ensure that happens. I encourage everyone to support local animal shelters. They do very important work! Also, a BIG thank you to all of my friends who remembered me on my special day by sending a gift or a note. I am grateful for all of you!
Easter is this Sunday, which reminds me of God's grace through His Son, Jesus. This is one of 2 of my favorite holidays because of what it represents. I wish all of my furry (and human) friends who celebrate this day a blessed Easter full of the joyful knowledge of Christ's death and resurrection. He is risen indeed!

I wish all of my friends and fellow Catsters a very Merry Christmas. I hope all of you enjoyed yesterday and that the humans remembered to include you in the festivities (as if you'd have it any other way MOL!). As for Mommy and I, we are thankful for many things this holiday. We are grateful to have the birth of Jesus, our Savior, to celebrate in the first place; we are thankful for food, family, and shelter; and last but not least, we are thankful for your friendship. It has warmed our hearts and made us smile. Friendship is a wonderful gift, and we appreciate all of the time, energy, and generosity you have poured into it. This is the best gift we received this season. We pray that each and every one of you had a blessed Christmas and wish you many more to come :)

Cat Show: Please Enter and Vote!

Hi Everybody!
My friend Platelicker just told me about the Coolest Dog and Cat Show contest. If you haven't joined, you should! If you don't know how, p-mail me and I will tell you :)
I would really appreciate votes from everyone; it would be so cool to win! I would be just as happy if it were one of my friends who won, too. So if you are entered in the contest, let me know and I will vote for you too!
One question: I am not sure how to add the badge to my page. This badge is a link that will take potential entrants and voters straight to the contest's page. Can anyone tell me how to paste it onto my page? This would make it a lot easier to get votes.
I wish all of my fellow Catsters many purrs and best wishes in the contest. I would say may the best cat win, but you're all the best to me ;)
