indoors Arrival Story: I was walking home from the store and this chatty cat was on the sidewalk saying hi, and while I stopped to chat and rub his back, someone on the second floor balcony of the house there told me his name was Buddy he was abandoned. His owner had was evicted and left him and his sister behind to fend for themselves. This man said Buddy was a great cat and they were feeding him but none of them could keep him. (They being the other folks who lived in the multi-family house that is ubiquitous in this area.) Bio: Buddy is obviously part Siamese and part grey tabby. His sister (currently hiding in the attic of that house and scared to death) is said to be "a Siamese". Buddy's blue eyes and brown coloring confirm it. He also has the circle on his side that I see more around here than all the years of my life elsewhere. He is very very mellow, but curious. He is a total catnip junkie. And he is neutered. He was only living on the street for 2 weeks. But he is shy of "doing the wrong thing" which makes me wonder if he was smacked around before for little things. He is so handsome, very very sweet, very gentle, good-natured, so far getting along very well with my cats... I ADORE his blue eyes and the pale color of the pad on the end of his nose.
Buddy is a real delight. He is very smart, I've discovered, and he learns quickly. He comes when he is called, and he has made the upstairs room where he was the first week his own sanctuary now that I'm letting him roam. When he learns what he can't do, he runs upstairs to sit. If he is feeling put-upon by the others here, he runs upstairs to sit. He spends time there and then comes downstairs to see the rest of us. I know he plays with the cat toys up there and I think he is starting to play some with Junior Fluffkins up there.
I've updated his age because after taking a closer look at his teeth, I noticed he was missing a tooth. So I don't think he is as young as my first estimate. He might be older than 5. But he is such a joy, a real love bug, a real treat to have around. Lives Remaining: 9 of 9 The Groups I'm In: **Catstertown** The Last Forum I Posted In: Join Catster's 2010 Easter Egg Hunt! Wow, can you believe HQ read my diary? Or maybe they throw darts at their confuser monitor to pick on MOL!! But today I was one of the DDPs!! I'm so humbled, I haven't been here very long you know. But thank you HQ!!
And thank you to so many furs who left comments on my diary and my pictures. You are all so sweet. Me and my Foster Mom are so grateful.
Mom posted some more pictures of me and she has a few others to post once she gets them off the camera. So far, three people have asked about but have found or are looking at kitties locally. That's great for the kitties in their local shelters. WHOOHOO!! We are totally behind ALL kitty adoptions. And there are so many here on Catster who need adopting.
Well, anyway, I'm so pleased and am just purring myself silly. My mom has given me special treats even though I have not necessarily been a good boy. But I love my Foster Mom (and I tell her that, believe you me!) and trust her to find me a wonderful furever home.
My Foster Mom said to me today that I look like I'm Earnest. I don't know who that is!! I'm Buddy, not Earnest. She says even when I'm being goofy I look Earnest. You can see the newest picture of me in Jake's box (which Junior has been destroying, but I think he is done with that. To see it, you have to click on [See My CatsterPlus Photo Book] below the pictures on my main page.)
Well, we've been getting to know each other. She has discovered I like laps. And I like sitting with her on the sofa. She said I was looking Earnest while squeezing myself into a small box of her papers, but isn't that why the box was there? And yes, the end of my tail needed washing while I was there.
Anyway, I had a nice time wriggling in Foster Mom's box of papers. Until it got too uncomfortable. But she said even then I looked Earnest.
I'm brand new on Catster but many of you know my foster fursibs. They are great and while the first few days have been shaky, the furs here haven't been nasty. I even played a bit with the Fluffkins guys. Junior. Jake hisses at me. Sammy ignores me. Tethys watches me. But that's OK, I'm still trying to get comfortable here.
You will read in my bio that I was abandoned. A couple days after my Foster Mom (FM) first met me, she came back with a kennel and the guys who had been feeding me helped her nab me. That was scary. It's better now.
Mom needs to find me a home because the shelter is overwhelmed by furs like me. Too many abandoned by people who just up and leave. Ya, my previous Mom was evicted and had no money, but she also had no morals and no sense of responsibility. But she didn't treat me badly. She did have me de-male-ized and that is something.
Anyway, if you think I'm handsome but I'm on the wrong side of the continent, please look at my near twin, the so furry handsome Frankie who has been waiting for a new home.
On this side of the continent, so too has Clyde been waiting for a new home.
