First live bird catch

Dear diary,

I finally made my first real catch today - a bird! An actual live bird! No more lizards & geckos for me, no sir! Only bird on the menu from now on. It was a thrush. Grey, with a yellow beak & yellow legs. It was terrified - screamed blue murder! I loved it!! Now all I have to do is figure out what I'm supposed to do with said bird after catching it . . .

Off course mom had to come & ruin my fun. Cause of the bird screaming she came running to see what was going on. She looked at me, scolded me, saying I'm not just supposed to sit there stare at it. Well excuse me, if someone can find me a textbook on bird-roasting or something I might be better equipped to do the job next time??! She took it :( Locked it up in a cage, nursed it back to health. I think she just wanted to torment me. I tried to persuade her to feed it some garlic, thyme, a bit of basil . . . To no avail. I will not be having roast thrush for Easter lunch :(

Rainy days . . .

Are boring!! Mommy won't let me go play outside. Says I'll get sick. Blah. Not that I think all that wet stuff will do the fur any good. But still, there is nothing to do in the house. No bugs to hunt, no birds to catch. Best is to annoy uncle Shakespeare by biting his tail. But I've done all that before - BOOORING!! Mom says I'll get rotten feet if they get wet. That she'll have to dry me off with a towel. Perhaps I should just settle down for a catnap, dream about all the bugs waiting out there . . .

Every once in a while a miracle happens. I've had a few of those already, I think it's time for someone else to hava a turn :) Mom took me to the vet yesterday to have another blood test done for my FIV. The vet ran the FIV/FeLV test again, and it came back negative. Momma asked the vet how this could be, and he explained that false positives sometimes just happen. Mom cried so hard, she hugged me till I thought my eyeballs were gonna bulge out!! She's having the test results framed. Which means I have to pose for another picture :0 But its ok, if momma's happy, I'm happy. The best part is that I get to play outside all night now if I want to! Even in the winter, she said. And I can go play outside when it rains, like Tigger and Tequila always get to do! I used to love watching them play with the leaves and the flowers blowing down from the trees just before it starts raining, and now I can go join them :) Yay!!!
