Leave a treat for Principessa (Gidget)

Principessa (Italian for Princess), Gidgie Girl, Snookums (Daddy's name for her)

Sun Sign:
Quick Bio:

September 20th 2009

To always be in the middle of the action! And empty paper bags! And boxes!

Mom won't let me bat the canary cage. I don't know why because I really love that little bird!

Favorite Toy:
Crinkly mylar balls, she carries them everywhere! She even fetches them back to Mom to throw again.

Favorite Nap Spot:
Any pillow, especially down filled.

Favorite Food:
Mom's cooked chicken with broth

Especially agile. Leaps and flips trying to catch feather teaser.

Arrival Story:
Our kids were gone & our beloved Tagger (Maine Coon mix) was showing signs of slowing down at nearly 18 years. We attended a cat show & then visited 2 Maine Coon breeders. However, once we saw the Kashi Saga Norwegian Forest kittens, we were smitten!! We loved the look of Sunny, who became our Gidget. After waiting a month, she finally came home right before Christmas on a snowy Saturday. She has the sweetest personality. For now, she is a solo kitten, but we will probably visit Kashi Saga again before long...

I was born September 20, 2009. My mom cat is Kashi Saga Pirate Lili, my dad is Marsh Creek Knight of Kashi Saga. My full Wegie name is Kashi Saga Pirate Principessa. I come from some pretty impressive Wegie lines apparently!!! Had to have some Italian since my peeps' dad is Italian, but mom calls me Gidget (like the movie Girl+ Midget = Gidget!) Mom says it is because I am a very petite, girly cat.

Easter Hunting Expedition

I've heard tell of brother Bear being an adept mouser but until now we girl cats haven't been challenged in that respect. However, it's spring and the baby field mice are about! For the last few weeks Bridget & I have been hanging around the kitchen because we've seen some activity, particularly around the stove late at night. Finally, some action! Can't say who saw the cute little mousie first but on Saturday we caught one! It was a joint effort but Bridget was quite the aggressor and carried it off while Dad yelled for Mom. Mom was all business and dispatched our catch out the back door into the yard before we knew it. Didn't even get a chance to play much but Mom said that was that... She did praise us both for our collective hunting ability! She was very happy this all didn't happen during Easter dinner with company about. Bridget & I are most hopeful for future hunting expeditions when Mom isn't around. Happy Easter!

So one fine day in December my peeps went out for a while and came back with a full cat carrier! They brought home another wegie from Kashi Saga!!! Early Christmas gift for me?! Well, the peeps sure surprised me! We share the same daddy, Knight. To celebrate, we came up with a name for this newbie: Kashi Saga Pirate Brigitta, or simply Bridget around the house. It was my job to introduce her to the food setup & she is quite an enthusiastic eater, I must say. She is well trained where litter is concerned and she didn't try to take over my favorite napping spots. It's been fun having a fellow feline to run around the house with when the peeps are out. Most importantly, she seems to understand the pecking order around here, namely, I AM TOP CAT!

There's a change in the air

Well, my first Thanksgiving here was kind of a turkey. Oh, the smells were great, the food was better than usual but the company went to the dogs. My peeps' Mom was a little under the weather due to some surgery to one of her paws. My #2 peeps brother Matt came home to play with me, which is always great. The #1 peeps brother Andy & wife Lisa brought their new puppy, Bella, along for the visit. Bella decided that chasing me was the order of the day and this got old fast. For a wee pup, Bella could really run circles around me! Lucky for me, I could jump onto furniture to escape her. Mom will have to post some video for proof...

Then, a couple weeks later, the whole bath/cat show routine repeated itself. I don't know why they insist on this nonsense or what the heck they get out of it or, more importantly, what they think I get out of it!!! Anyway, I won a big rosette ribbon and some points, so Mom was proud and ever so happy. Dad almost lost my rosette in the parking lot on the way home & Mom was ready to lose Dad but all was well in the end. Stay tuned for some REALLY BIG NEWS!
