:-h:-h:-h Prayers for everyone in those fire areas. All the animals too=;
HERE'S THE NEWS FROM MY YARD:THE MOMMA COON FROM LAST YEAR IS STILL HERE:-O
LAST YEAR,SHE HAD 3 BABIES........THIS YEAR,SHE HAS 6 BABIES.::o::o::o
The folks were sitting on the patio with me, a couple evenings ago And here come all these babies raccoon...Gma and Gpa had only seen 2 and thought that was it:?
Nope! There are 6 little stinkers......There Mom has showed them, all the places where Gpa feeds batches of kitties.:)) So,Gma grabs me up and holds me tight! I'm Near sighted and didn't see them,but could smell them!=;
They stroll into Gpa's big workshop and have snacks......There are 2 Moma kitties with 2 batches of kittens that eat there. They HELP themselves and then in a slow line, they come out! 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 of them!:-O:-O:-O
Then you remember how Gma fights with barn kitties going poop in her flowers??:-k Well, LAST NIGHT THE MOMMA COON WENT POOP IN HER CYPRUS MULCH AROUND THE FLAGPOLE AND HER FLOWERS SHE PUT THERE.:)):)):)) Gma said, it was such a huge load! No dogs in our neighborhood but ME! She said, there is NO WAY either myself or any of the big Cats can poop that big of a load!::o Gma made Gpa clean it out of there:))! ANYWAY,SHE IS GLAD SHE DIDN'T HAVE ROOM FOR THE SWEET CORN IN THE GARDEN:) SHE HOPES THEY DON'T DECIDE THEY LIKE OTHER VEGGIES THAT ARE OUT THERE:? SHE TRIED A RECIPE OFF THE OATMEAL BOX.... the cookie experts,didn't like them...She took them out of the freezer and had Gpa put them on the north side of the shop and garage where the little coons go....she said,they'll find those oatmeal cookies and take care of them. NOW SHE BETTER GET BUSY AND MAKE MONSTER COOKIES FOR ME and I'll share with the family!
Anywho,she said,between cats and coons...they are trying to drive her CRAZY!:-O:-/:( We have thunderstorms in forecast through Sunday. We started watering the garden this morning for the continued HEAT.
Then showers came and we shut it off=; Saved her a little time today....
By Monday,Gma said, we will be picking,washing,freezing and canning. Earlier than the last 4 years.:? She says, we have peas,beans,summer yellow squash,zucchini and cucumbers ready. Pulled the spinach and cleaned it up..before it went to seed. Wrapped a bunch of head butter-crunch lettuce in newspaper and put it in an extra fridge. 2nd. crop of radishes are ready. Will be cauliflower ready sometime next week. Cut broccoli again today.
My hooman brother will be here visiting this weekend. haven't seen him since Thanksgiving time. |$| They are hoping Sunday is nice for boating and tubing at the lake. Only 20% for storms. 50% up to 70% each day between now and then.
Caught up our laundry and still working on putting some things back in the PC. Never enough time to do much there. We started washing windows yesterday....Gma said, that always makes RAIN...just like washing the car does......:))!:))!:))! That's what is up at my Ponderosa on the Prairie.
Even with it drying out around here....I still picked up 2 ticks this week. Gma found them before they could steal my blood!=; I have stuff put on every single month=;
HOPE EVERY PAL HAS A PAWTASTIC WEEKEND! I HOPE THE LGIHTENING AND THUNDER BOOMERS STAY AWAY FROM MY HOUSE::o::o::o
STAY SAFE PALS, HUGS AND KISSES,MAZY:xo::B~d..

THANKS PALS FOR ALL THE WISHES FOR A HAPPY 4TH. OF JULY.
RIGHT BACK AT YA!!!!! I'm afraid here on the prairie it was
a working weekend. We had such messed up weather this past
week. Everyone,including our neighbors juggled their daily
work by what the weather was doing. Thus it forced all of
US to work all weekend. Playing catch-up, a common thing in
Smoke from the Big Canadian Fires has been rolling across us
for better than a week. Visibility Friday was 2.5 m,which is
nothing on flat prairie. Combined with such heavy cottonwood
fuzz that...it is like SNOW IN JULY! All the overgrown weeds
and yuck! We chased with mowers to once again,gain control.
Everything required mowing twice to shorten enough to give
us a few days of peace. Rain,wind,high humidity and the high
temp. for the week was 93! The low was 70....
The garden seems to LOVE the wacky weather????? Everything
but the butternut winter squash is blooming and setting veggies.
We have been enjoying broccoli,cauliflower,spinach,butter-crunch
and red romaine lettuces,radishes and green onions. Not only the
weeds grew while Gma and I grabbed some shut eye...but so did the
plants. Gma didn't go to the garden for 2 days and OMD! It had
all grown 6 inches. We will be freezing and canning soon......
Put the fence up for the tomatoes this weekend (they are hip
high on my people) They were about 6" tall once planted. Gma
saw tomatoes,peas,cucumbers,peppers,zucchini setting their
yummy parts.......I love peas and beans,squash too!
Gma gave me a Tubby today....I know she will follow with eyes,ear,brushing and nails..... OMD,Yuck! Why did I need
all this just because I have a Birthday Tomorrow? I will be
8 years old! Boy those years went FAST! She baked brownies,
but they are nasty chocolate.......So that means,she will
doing something else for my birthday. I did have a sweet
potato treat after the bath. I just love those things.....
I wonder if, Gma bought me any pressies????????? I know
she said,we had to clean house tomorrow....A Draggy way to
spend my birthday! I better have a special supper....I've
been on rodent patrol! I've made history out of some mice...
Gpa bought a JD Baler. Not new, but new to us! This is the funny
part! He changed from his brand to a JD-535. It's new enough,
that it has a monitor you have to use to bale the hay! Well,
1st. time to the field and he now wishes he had stayed with what
he has used for decades. Gma and I think it is FUNNY! Cuz,he
doesn't set anything around here that is digital or computerized.
If, Gma can't figure it out....she has to find someone...Gpa
can't figure out his monitor for the baler! HeHE!!! So now,he is
talking to all kinds of guys on this baler...Gma said, you have
a problem....Imagine that??????? He should-da pay attention,
to some of those other techy things......Gma thinks,he'll like
it, when he figures it out....The old Vermeer was history! It's
in the scrap pile...Had a good run, about 35 yrs. worth....
Before the big round baler...Gpa and crew stacked all the hay
in large big free stacks. The old yellow one, baled 100's of
thousands of tons of hay in her day.
I guess this is all we know...Busy,busy here.....50% today
and 40% tomorrow for rain. Gma hopes it rains for the garden
while she is putting the house in order. Then back outside
to start all over on weeding,mowing,picking,sticks,etc....
OMD! It is summer time! Gma and I love the growing season!
Enjoy your July! Hugs and Kisses,mazy
