I'M STILL KICKING...........

I know my pals haven't seen my fur or paws around here
lately. I'm ALIVE and thrilled that dogster community has been
bought. Now the site is being revamped,so in the future we
can all connect again! Yippy!

I'm afraid grandma won't let me paw around on the puter when
she can't supervise..... Not FAIR,as I'm not a puppy anymore!

For those of you who don't know:

I've been restricted on my own Ponderosa property due to
a Momma Raccoon and her 3 babies. They act like they own the
place....Come and eat with the barn kitties. Less than 20 feet
from my back door. They have been within 3 feet of grandma and
grandpa. OKAY! So grandma says, it is a safety issue for ME!
The Momma will chew me up and spit me out, if she thinks,I'm
a threat to her babies. Who by the way are bigger now, than I
am!

So if that isn't bad enough, kittens from this spring and
summer have decided that the fenced in Front-yard it also
their territory! The Momma hisses and growls, if I get too
close to those kitties. They wanna play and I wanna play!
But NOPE, she isn't having it! She is very protective of
her first babies. I ended up in refresher training, on
STAND,LEAVE IT, STOP AND NO! I also have found myself using
a harness and leash...As the renter planted Sunflowers by
grandma's garden...... They are very tall now!

The grasshoppers and other things call me into the field.
While grandma is picking vegetables. I didn't answer ASAP!
I was trailing a scent of probably deer. So,now I can't be
loose at the garden. When I was a puppy, I went into sunflowers
and came out a 1/2 m from where I went in. Grandma freaks
out!!!!!!!

Things became very dry in July. Then the rains started.
Now we think we are Ducks! As it has rained everyday or
night for a couple weeks. Temperatures are cool for August.
Gardens are 3-4 wks. behind schedule, due to weird summer.

We've filled our 13.5 cut ft. vegetable freezer with our
produce. Still picking and processing. Lots of tomatoes
but very green. Looks like we will have time for the winter
squash and cantaloupe to make it.....If the rain just stops!
We have made pickle relish, garlic dills, hot dills, bread and
butter pickles and pickled vegetable mix. A good 70 jars.
Most goes to the grown kids for their use. Gma has processed
veggies 11 days out of the last 14. Makes cleaning house,
laundry and daily meals a challenge. It's August and Gma
is running out of Energy! This happens every year! Seems
to be Worse this year??? Gotta be that old age thingy?????

We hope to be able to make our pasta sauce, taco sauce
and chunky salsa. We will cover the 6 chest high plants
at night if necessary. All the rest of the tomato products
we still have plenty on hand from 2013. Gma nursed the
garden through frost,high winds,heat and cold,insects,
2 rounds of hail, sand storms, too much and too little
rain! The plants survived it ALL! Just things are late!
We were still picking peas in August! Who ever heard
of that??? They are a cold weather vegetable. So is
cauliflower and broccoli. It took 3 long days this week
to process all our veggies. At least the corrals were
cleaned before the rains came....Gpa is still making
hay when it isn't raining! He caught the baler on fire
this summer. Bearings went out and started the big round
bale burning. He was able to kick it out before the baler
was toast! Had to stand and watch the ha bale and field
while it burned. Then carried water to the field to make
sure there were no cinders left......

We are busy around here! Starting to think of all the Fall
work we have to do before winter sets in... We hope it is
a very long Fall.....Gma has managed to cook every night
except for supply runs. Also bake something for Gpa every week.
She even baked monster cookies for the grand-kids. Went tubing
with them at the lake. Snuck off a couple times to go fishing.
Due to dogster's issues,we just couldn't waste time trying
to get into the site everyday. We hope by the time things
slow down...DOGSTER WILL BE 100% BETTER THAN IT HAS BEEN
THE PAST YEAR! Sleep this growing season has been short
for the old folks. I've had plenty and lots of naps!

I HOPE ALL MY PALS have been enjoying a pawtastic growing
season! I thank you all for the messages and birthday wishes.
I turned 7 around July 4th. We tried and couldn't send
thank you's and pressies. Some went through and others did not!
Finally, Gma gave up and hopes you all understand.....
Labor Day is just around the corner! I hope everyone does
something FUN!!!!!!

huggies and kisses,mazy

I'M BACK HOME!!!!!!!!!!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT, I'VE MADE IT HOME! RAIN LET ME
SNEAK INTO THE OFFICE AND PAW THE PUTER! THIS MORNING
WE WENT TO THE VEGETABLE GARDEN AND WEEDED. GPA started
the tiller and ran it between the rows of plants....

I had to wear my harness and a long 15Ft. nylon leash
to the garden. I sure didn't understand, what was up with
that???? Gma said, I had to stay right where she knew
where I was...How come???????? I guess, we have a big
fat Raccoon running around our ranch yard. I haven't
seen it...Gma has seen it 3 times and Gpa has seen it
several times too....Gma told Gpa it is eating barn kitty
food. Gma thinks, it is a Momma Coon. It has babies close by.

Well babies, let me see the Coon and babies!!!!! Gma
doesn't want me to sniff it out...I'm a hound you know!
Want to play with it, of course! Then upset the Coon and
have it rip me up! Really,I'm the Princess,I'm not suppose
to need a leash on my home turf! I don't like this, but I
was good about it....I sat and watched while the garden
was cleaned up....

Then it clouded up some more and rained....Was a cold, damp
day. Stopped raining so we could have burgers off the grill
for supper. Well they did...I had boring kibbles of chicken
and brown rice...The usual! I'm on medicine for my GUT!
12 hrs. after being home my tummy betrayed me! Same thing as
before:Stress Induced Bacterial Colitis.

Same meds as before! I did the preventive stuff before
and during doggie hotel. I ate and drank well, slept good,
played with a little doxie. They said,I was an Angel!
I've finished 2 of the meds. but will be on antibiotics
for a whole 10 days. They got the runny poops stopped ASAP!
I feel fine and I am my usual entertaining self! I am
sticking to the old folks like glue! All I can say, is they
better get serious about looking at the 5th. wheel travel
homes. Cuz, if they want to RUN...this little doxie has
to go along! My tummy doesn't bother me, when I'm with my
Old Folks....

They have tales to tell about their 'CATION, but not today.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO EVERYONE.....Gma is still catching up
on putting everything away. Rain has settled in and mowing
is on hold. Gma says, they both played SO hard they are
POOPED OUT! Sounds to me, like the Vacation thingy was almost
like Working?????? Well, if that is SO,why did they go?
Leave me behind??????? Gma and I did take a nap this weekend.
We Never do that! She says, she thinks, she needs another
nap.....What's up with Her??????

Kisses and Huggies,mazy
