Arrival Story:
I found Bucky (and his brother Buzz) on the Best Friends website and what a find it was... for all three of us! They came to their new home in Texas Friday, March 12th 2010. Sadly, Buzz passed away in September and everyone has had a hard time adjusting.

While I was admiring Bucky and Buzz' Catster page, I read their diary entry... the one that asked "what's wrong with us" and my heart just melted. I was shocked to think that a small medical problem could hinder two such adorable fellows from finding a home and realized it was time to open my heart again... I had lost my adored Andy who had multiple, major, medical problems almost a year ago (once having to be tube-fed for 6weeks) and thought that I would never be able to bear "replacing" him... but seeing and reading about Buzz and Bucky, I just knew that it was time to love again.

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for all the compliments on my first kill! ;) My dad is working on my collar (he's SO proud of me) and there are more kill-counts to add! I've gotten 2 more!!! Dad says I'm "earning my keep" (I thought I did that by BEING).

Mom isn't very happy about this whole mousie mess but I think she's secretly glad she doesn't have to trap the little boogers! And she makes daddy take them away from me... ???

Side note to The Trouts: I'm not about to eat any mouses, I'm thinking they're in line with the taste of the birds you mentioned:) And mom says if she smells mouse on my breath, she won't let me sleep with her no more!

Y'all have a wonderful day! Purrs, Bucky (Master Hunter)

"Body Count"

Hello Everyone,

I'm SO proud! I made my first real kill last night... well, aside from the occasional wasp or scorpion:) I got me a REAL mouse! My daddy is extremely proud of me and wanted to take a picture but Mommy freaked out and wouldn't have it :(

Daddy says he's going to paint a picture of the mouse on my collar to show my "kills" like they used to do on airplanes but I'm not sure Mommy is going to go for that either... anyway, it was great fun and I had a roaring good time!

In other news (not nearly as exciting), Mommy took me to see our Kittydoctor yesterday. He was pretty proud of me too; I've lost 1/4pound, thanks to more play time and some yummy new food and he says I'm very healthy (if still a little "chunky"). I did have to have a couple of shots but he says they're necessary.

Everyone: pay close attention, you never know what might get into the house for you to play with!!!

Almost spring!

Hello everyone! It's been a long time since Mom could get back on here but I'm working on her to be better about it.

It looks like spring is coming and lots of days she opens the windows and I can sit on the sill and watch (and smell!) everything so much better... she secured the screens ('cause one time one fell out) but I wouldn't go outside anyway... she told me there's coyotes out there! I worry when she goes out to work in the yard... and scold and scold when she comes back in but I'm not sure she's getting the message!

Mom bought me a new toy last week! It's the BEST box in the world! There was some kind of silly whirl-a-gig thing in the box but it wasn't nearly as much fun as the box! You should see it!

I hope everyone is doing okay and enjoying the early spring weather as much as I am!

Purrs, Bucky
