Arrival Story:
My daughter was on her way home from school on a chilly day in March of 1988. She heard a kitten crying and found Pixie under a bush. She was only 1 to 2 weeks old. Her cord was still attached to her little body. So in my daughter bursts with this tiny thing in the palm of her hand. We did not ever find out what if anything happened to the mother. Maybe she was around somewhere. We really did not try to find out. We knew we had this tiny little thing that needed warm and nourishment. I set off to the pet store to buy milk replacer. We were living with my mother and she and Pixie bounded. My mom would carry her around in the pocket of her smock top to keep her warm and would keep her well fed. Pixie has trived as you can see. She is elderly now and does have cataracts in both eyes. Her days are spent sleeping in her favorite chair. Her waking hours are spent keeping her belly full and sitting on my lap. Happy 22nd B'day Pixie!

Bio:
About 4 years ago Pixie suffered a broken hip. My frantic mother called me at work to tell me that Pixie had been injured. We believe it happened when she was sitting along side of the dog, whom she loved. She would rise up and nudge and rub against the dog and we think that the dog got up and accidently knocked her over. Then she took off crying up a flight of stairs. My mother, afraid to climb the stairs.....she was in her late 70's at the time scooted up the stairs on here bottom and was able to bring her down the same way. I had to drive 30 miles to get home from work to take her to the vet. After the xrays the vet said that the break really was not something that he could fix, due to the location and her age it really wasn't possible. Putting her down would have been the last resort. But, he said she may do okay and adjust to it and she has. She can walk and jump off my lap back into her chair just fine. She is a survivor that is for sure. She of course looks a little funny when she walks as her hip juts out a little but she makes it.!!

We lost Pixie several month ago. Age finally took it's toll. She was 22. A long life for a little cat! Much loved and missed by us.
