My appointment at the Second Chance shelter was the day before Hurricane Francis. Hurricane Charlie had proven to be a very lonely experience, and I decided to keep my appointment rather than cancel for safety's sake. I would rather weather the storm with a new friend. Cleo and I spent the next three hurricanes in pleasant company.
