Birthday: September 8th 2003 Coloration: Black and White Likes: Food, food and more food. Pet-Peeves: Making too many sudden movements, he still lives in hyper-vigilent mode a habit developed from the streets. Favorite Toy: Not sure yet. Favorite Food: anything as long as it is edible. Skills: being sweet. Arrival Story: About six months ago he showed up on my patio and was staring through the sliding glass door. I don't know how he came to be abandoned outside. I contacted SNAP (Spay, Neuter and Protect) who lent me a trap so I could have him fixed and vaccinated. I wasn't sure how friendly or socialized he was. Bio: After several months of feeding and getting to know Gargamel, who of course I named for the villain from the "Smurfs" which I grew up watching, I came to discover that not only was he friendly but he was a major lover and head butter. He is a precious boy that I am really enjoying getting to know. (update June 2011) Gargamel has been living in our home for a year and a half. Unfortunately Gargamel tested positive for FIV and we have had a real hard time keeping him healthy. He has suffered a series of ear infections, had surgery on that bad ear, had trouble healing from said surgery. He was infection free for nine months after his ear surgery before the infection came back. Now I clean his ear every day and hope that I am never put into the position of having to have that ear canal surgically removed because of the suffering involved and the fact that he has so much trouble healing. My fear is that he wouldn't survive it. He has also suffered several UTIs. Poor Gargi has been through the ringer but I call him my brave little man. He is a fighter and so tolerant of the manhandling I have to do to doctor him every single day. He is a vet favorite and fitting in well with the family.
