Arrival Story: I had a dream sometime during the fall of 2009 that I found a girl kitten and named her Sicily. I had been wondering if it would ever come true over the next few months and decided that if I ever did find the right cat, I would name her Sicily. On January 16, 2010, I threw old bread in the yard early in the day for the birds. Later that night, I was calling for Simba when I heard a cat meowing. Apparently, she was eating the old bread. I got a flash light and a cup of food and went to see her. She wouldn't stop meowing at me and she seemed persistent to come to me. Very quickly, she ran up to me and ate some food and then she began to rub me and allowed me to pet her. She was purring her motor and was all over me. I still have a hard time figuring out if she was a stray or a lost cat because she was instantly attached to me. We asked the neighbors who we knew had cats and they responded saying that they have never seen her before. I kept an eye out for fliers and sent an email to a radio station about her, but nothing. Whether she was a stray or lost, she showed up at the right house. She is such a sweetie pie and I care about her so much. Who says dreams can't come true?

We never noticed how long it's been since we were here! Mommy is enjoying her summer and so are we. She's been trying to get a job all summer but with no luck. She may end up hostessing at a restaurant downtown. She's been trying to reach the guy in charge of jobs at our vet, but she can never call at the right time. She's hoping to give it a better shot next week. And mommy finished her college orientation yesterday afternoon. She'll be staying in town and going to University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) and try to get those general education classes out of the way before starting on her degree, although she's very eager. Mommy is a science and math person and she's really looking forward to biology, chemistry, and calculus, and all of that. She's hoping to finish the gen. eds. within two years and go up to University of Tennessee at Knoxville (UTK) to start on veterinary medicine, but we'll see.
As for us, Luca and Simba are being amazing boys, mommy says. They're always home and Luca is still hunting little critters. Saki and Leo are doing great as well. We're all getting along better nowadays, although Saki and I still have our differences. There were times where Leo would come up to me and start licking my face. We do set aside differences from time to time and play together. Sometimes Saki will still get upset with me and we'll chase each other. Mommy thinks I like having Saki barreling down behind me because after I hide, it's my turn to chase her into another room.
Patches is doing well, she has a few ticks but they're being taken care of. Our doggy cousins Roxy and Chloe have been living downstairs since January with mommy's older brother and his fiance and they're doing great, too. They'll be moving out next week and mommy is gonna help them. Amber, Olly, and Baxter are doing well too. Mommy went to watch them for a night in June while her dad and step mom went to Georgia to visit family. She saw them a few weeks ago, too. Mommy has heard them saying that Amber seems to be slowing down, but they're in high hopes. We'll see how she does.
As for me, I'm still a youngster and enjoy getting into trouble. I love to sleep on top of the cat tree and on mommy's bed. And me and Saki both love to talk. Mommy was watching TV in the den and I was sleeping on her bed and every time I rolled over, I start making noises and go back to sleep. There was one time awhile ago, I was asleep next to mommy and I started to talking quietly in my sleep. Mommy said she would say something to me and I would respond. I'm so silly...
Would it be a surprise to say that I am taking my last Cosequin capsule tonight? From the same box I started back in April? Unfortunately, it's not over forever. There were times where I couldn't take my medicine and I would start showing UTI symptoms again. Mommy called the vet yesterday and talked with them if I needed to continue taking the prescription and they strongly recommended it. So tonight is the last pill since April and tomorrow I will be starting on the new bottle. I guess I'm going to be taking this for the rest of my life, and that's a long road isn't it? But I'm such a good girl and I always take my pills, so there's nothing to worry about.
Mommy is actually hoping to get back around on Catster. We've only been on a few times lately, so we're sorry for missing so much! We really need to update our pictures and profile layouts. We'll get around to it all soon.

Remember when I would cry nonstop all throughout the days and nights? Not any more. I'm a quiet little girl. I like to sleep under one of the beds and I come to relax with mommy, Saki, and Leo on mommy's bed while she's on her computer. I like to be home.
I haven't shown any problems after my surgery. I'm eating and drinking well. I'm playing like a little crazy kitty that I am. And I just love to sleep. And I have a small little cut on my belly where they did the surgery. Just about maybe 3 or 5 stitches and they're purple. Mommy forgot they asked for what king of stitches when her sister took me in. I think I got the kind that needs to be removed after awhile. Mommy is wondering if they'll just fall out. She might call the vet next week and ask. She doesn't wanna drive me all the way back out there for a few minutes to get them out. But we'll see.
Mommy also noticed that I am very underweight. My hips are a bit pointy and I'm skinny looking. She never knew I was so thin. She's hoping I'll put on weight in the next few weeks.
Saki and Leo still don't show any progress in accepting me. But we don't mind relaxing around each other. Mommy hopes they'll calm down soon.
Well, that is all for now. Glad to be home!

Mommy came out to pick me up from the vet. It was a long ride home, but she took a short cut to avoid the rest of the highway and any traffic. I was quiet. Very quiet. Not a single word came from my lips.
We finally got home and now I'm silently wandering around, licking myself every now and then. Saki and Leo are sniffing me over, but still avoiding me.
Mommy is pretty sure that once I'm well, I'll be an outdoor cat with Luca and Simba. She knows I won't mind and maybe I'll come inside to visit sometimes. I'm sure Saki and Leo would enjoy that. Heehee.
And shockingly, I am 5 months old. Mommy believed I would be a little over a year old, but nope. Sorry mommy! So, she counted the months and ended on October and she decided October 6th will be my birthday. My FIRST birthday.
I'm just glad to be home where it's warm and welcoming heehee. Mommy is, too.
